I finished Wicked
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
I finished Wicked and I'm about halfway through Son Of A Witch, and I have mixed feelings about these books.
For one thing, the writing is fabulous and some of the ideas that are conveyed are very interesting. In a good way. Additionally, the characters are for the most part believable and relatable. But you come away from reading it, even just two pages, and you think to yourself--- at least I do--- "Jeez, is life really /that/ bleak?" They can be kind of depressing at times, and definitely rather smutty. I definitely like the Wicked music/musical better than the actual book, but I think I still somewhat enjoy the books as well. They can just be a little overwhelming if you read a lot of them at once. Especially like seventy pages, between 10 and 12 at night, with a flashlight, on the top bunk...
*coughs* Anyway. Thoughts?

You read the Wicked series too!?!?!? I see I am not the only one! I like the musical better too, but that might just be because it is more lighthearted and less gloomy. The books are definetily /heavy/ reading. Reading 70 pages from 10 to 12 could be hard to understand, because knowing me, I would forget what I had read and have to read the pages over again. Maybe you don't have that problem....
I don't think that I will read the last book A Lion Among Men, but I'll see. I'm going to see the musical again! It's coming to Toledo. Ohh! I can't wait! Squee Squee Squee ! *ahem* Just a little excited there.

Top!
I don't think I'll read A Lion Among Men either, at least not for a while. Although I do not have the issue of forgetting stuff, even having read it between 10 and 12pm. ;) Thankfully.
Oh, you get to see it again. Lucky! :)
Spamboy says ricp. That sounds violent.

I've on ly read Wicked for some reason, not Son of a Witch. The musical was quite a lot happier than the book. I've had the book sense March 1st, 09; I got it for my birthday from one of my friends. The year before she had gone as Elphaba for Halloween. I wish I could see Wicked again.
And, I love all wicked things, I'm wearing a Wicked t-shirt at this very momento. galinda is quite a bit funnier in the musical, I believe. You're gonna be Popu-u-lur/It's not about aptitude/It's the way your viewed/So it's very shrewed to beeee.../Very, very popular, like *points at herself* ME!!!!! And... "Pink goes good with green!" Elphaba always reminds me of Amy, someone I know.
Yeah, bye... I seem to be banging my head into the keyboard again!

"You know black / Is this year's pink! / And you deserve each other / This hat and you / You're both so... smart! / So here--- out of the goodness of my heart!"
Yes, Galinda/Glinda is my very favourite character. :)
