Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Okay, so I just blazed my way through a whole series in a week. Now I need book suggestions because I LOVE to read. Could you make a list of your favorite books and post it here? Mine are...
1. Harry Potter (Oh yeah)
2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians
3. Uglies

Ghiradelli dark chocolate is delicious! Actually, it's almost all I can have. But anyway, I love it.

Have any of you been to Ghiradelli Square in SF??
I have! It was a cool evening in July, and we got hot chocolate at the Ghiradelli Shop.

Ok, I think this thread full of really book-y people is just what I've been looking for!!! I have been trying to remember the name of this book for a really long time, and no matter how hard I try, I just can't, and neither can any of my family. So, I'll describe it, and if anyone knows what it is, PLEASE! Tell me!!!! Thank you!!!! (and yes, I have tried to find it by description)
(SPOILERS, if you know the title, and are in the middle of it. :D )
There's this girl, and she lives with her two parents, and she's an only child. One day the parents decide to go for a boat trip, and they have the girl's aunt come and stay with her and watch the house for them while they're gone.
Well, sadly, they are claimed lost at sea, and everyone but the girl gives up hope that they're alive. The aunt is really mean, and she turns their awesome old house into a museum sort of, and makes the girl leave her pretty room and sleep in an ugly little closet like space. But the good thing is, she has a window, which goes out into a very cool tree. It has a couch and book shelves in it, and when there is a huge storm, the girl climbs out the window into the tree, where it is perfectly calm. Anyway, in the morning, there are miniature Pegasus's all over her tree, eating the berries from it. After much plot happens, she realizes it's the berries that make them small, and she eats some, dresses in her friend's doll clothes, and goes off to find her parents on the back of one of the little Pegasus's. It turns out they were stranded on a little island where the only thing to eat is the berries from the tree, and so they are mini, and... eventually they get home and kick out the evil aunt.
Sorry that was so badly written, when it comes to writing other peoples' stories, I'm terrible. :)
I will take ANY info on this story if you've got it!!!! Thank you!!!

That's great Laura! You must be really excited! *smiles and mutters under breath, "I think 'really excited' is an understatement."* Just kidding :) I'm happy for you. By the way, spam-kid says ixwn, and I have no idea what it's trying to tell me.

Strange Birds is really good!
I tried to find my favorite books list via Google, but it isn't working. The most recently updated version is on a thread made by LL called, "Redoing My Favorite Books List." If anyone sees it, they have my permission to copy and paste my long list, which is in a comment, here. Except I'm removing one of the books in the Ingo series (The Deep), because the Kraken's personality is just annoying, and it annoys me, and I don't want to read annoying books.
Anyway, I guess if I had to choose, I'm finally able to (possibly). I think it's now between The Silmarillion (by Tolkien), Ingo (by Dunmore), and The Tide Knot (same).
I have a request similar to Laura's. I can't remember the title or author of one of my favorite books. I'll give some info about it...
*writes a sentence* Erm, never mind! All I had to do was write about it! It came back to me! It's called Strange Birds.

(January 21, 2010 - 2:23 pm)

1. Discworld, especially Wee Free Men
2. HIVE.. Fine, I'll type it *pouts*- Higher Institue of Villenous Education
3. Fablehaven
4. The Magyk series
5. Maybe not my favorite series, but Artemis Fowl is decent.
(January 20, 2010 - 8:13 pm)
I love the Septimus Heap books! I'm currently reading Queste. I started yesterday, and will be done by tomorrow.
(January 20, 2010 - 10:12 pm)
I really don't rank books I've read, so all the books in this list are in no particular order. I also didn't post some of my favorites because you already have them on your list !
When You Reach Me (Rebecca Stead)-AWESOME BOOK!
The Graveyard Book (Neil Gaiman)
Where the Mountain Meets the Moon (Grace Lin)
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (Seth Grahame-Smith/Jane Austen)
A Wrinkle in Time (Madeleine L'Engle)
Maximum Ride series (James Patterson)
(OK, maybe not a top fav, but still
good)
