Ooh, I love the Wingfeather Saga! It's been a while since I've read it, though, so I should probably wait until I've reread it before I post anything here.

omg I looove the Wingfeather Saga!! I wish there was a book five :0 for anyone who's read the side book that has a bunch of compiled stories (graagh I forget its title, am sleepy), which story was your favorite? mine was about the father who went on a long journey (also forgetting its title graaagh), it was so deep and depressing and poetic.

I actually just finished re-reading that! I have to admit, it isn't my most favorite series, but it isn't bad either. I really love Janner and Leeli, but UGH haaaaaated the ending

Same! I'm pretty sure this was the first book series I had read where someone dies. If that didn't happen, and if it was a little less dark, it would deffinately be my favorite of all time. I just started rereading it. As far as I can remember, the first was my fave. I love how the author (I can't remember his name; was is Andrew Peters or smthng?) writes it. It's so funny! And the footnotes are awesome. And the Appendixes. Andrew whats-his-face is so creative. Anklejelly mannor, tototos, handyball, etc, etc, etc.

@ Morgana, I think Leelee is Leeli. (I totally didn't have to grab my book to remember. lol.)

@ Ellesmere, my Dad, my siblings, and I have started the side book "Wingfeather Tales". We haven't finished it yet but so far my favorite story is " Shadow Blade and the Florid Sword". I'm probably a little biased cuz because Maraly and Gammon are my favorite characters. I just love their story dynamic!

Also I understand why you guys don't like the ending but I think the writer Andrew Peterson had a deeper meaning for the end. I think he was trying to share a little bit of the Bible in his story by referencing this verse:

John 15:14 (esv)

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."

But yes I LOVE the humor and footnotes! With all the different made up places, people, games, and traditions Andrew really brings the story to life! :)

beautiful scripture reference! yes, I can confirm that Andrew Peterson was actually intending to parallel Jesus with Janner. a couple of years back I did a Zoom-based writing tips/knowledge thing that he had set up for kids and he mentioned that :)

Wow that sounds like fun! I didn't know he did that sort of thing. The zoom writing tips I mean. Who's your favorite character? Mine is Maraly and Gammon. Their story is so sweet! (╥﹏╥)

I like Janner and Kalmar. That's why I'm so sad when Janner dies. I get what you're saying, though. The first time I read it, I think I was to young to realize the message that was being shown. Now as I'm reading it, though, I'm like, 'Wow, this is so meaningful.' It makes me like it even more. I still don't like the last book as much, though, mostly because it spends alot of time away from my favorite characters.

My mom is actually reading it aloud to me and my siblings right now! It's really good.

A sorta funny thing I've been working on for a while now. I'm not sure I can name the companies mascot specifically here or not and I hope it doesn't seem to violent. But I tried to make it look like a page out of the creaturepedia by Ollister B. Pembrick. It is not quite finished yet but so far so good. ;3
