Hi, Pussywillow,

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The Mysterious Benedict Society
 Hi, Pussywillow, ...

 Hi, Pussywillow,

I love the magazine and The Mysterious Benedict Society. It is a book about four kids, 11-12, who have no family. Their names are Kate, Reynie, Sticky, and Constance. Kate, a 12-year=old girl whose father left her at age 2, or so everyone said, was sent to an orphanage and ran away to join the circus. Reynie, whose parents died, had been sent to an orphanage but was smarter than most of the children and had his own tutor. Sticky was a smart boy who actually had a family but ran away from home. Constance, well, her history we don't know. They see an ad in the newspaper for "Gifted children looking for special opportunities" and undertake the challenge to take the tests to prove their love of truth. Mr. Benedict, the man who ran the ad, has a special mission for them. I'll post more!

The Mysterious Benedict Society is very good.  it is a little strange at some parts but still very interesting and well written.  it is extremely creative.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! It's one of my absolute favorites. Anna, have you read the sequel? It's...um....sorry, but I'm totally blanking out on the name! Anyway, there is a sequel, but in my opinion it's not as good as the first.

I love that book!!! The sequel is The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey. I agree it wasn't as good  as the first... I found it rather pointless to have a sequel. I thought the first ended well.. but I loved both of 'em.
