@ Zoe: RPG = Role Playing Game, in which every writer/player chooses a character from the story they're roleplaying and writes from the POV (point of view) of said character. Or, if you're doing next-gen, it might be from the POV of the children of character/s from the original books.

Gotcha?

@ Annie: Sure! :)

Yay! So, are we doing just Greek demigods or all pantheons, like Egyptian, Norse, etc.?

Name: Jenna

Parent: Unknown (stays in Hermes's cabin.)  I know they aren't supposed to have unclaimed kids anymore, but I couldn't resist. Other parent: mother is an artist in LA.

Backround:  Mother knew Jenna was in danger with Mount Orthys being in San Fran, so she was sent to camp with her best friend Joe, son of Apollo.

age: 12 -

year-round camper.

I stared out at the canoe lake in silence as the setting sun distorted its natural color, while naiads wove their baskets from below, winking at my best friend Joe, who ignored them. Behind us satrys chased dryads in hopes of a kiss, all in vain.

"Who do you think my parent is, Joe?" I asked him.

"You're mom is an artist in Los Angelos, Jen."

"You know what I meant."

"I don't know. But maybe--" he was broken off as the conch horn blew, announcing dinner. "Gotta go find my cabin, Jen. Catch you later."

Later up by the fire, Jenna scraped part of her meal into the flames. "Whoever you are, please tell me," she whispered, too low for anyone to hear. And although she sat with her cabinmates, the children of Hermes, she felt more alone than ever.

She was the only undetermined kid at Camp Half-Blood.

When I sat down at my table, Artemis, I noticed a girl at Hermes. She is definitely not Hermes. She didn't share any of their mischievous characteristics. Undetermined.

"Who was that sitting with you at your table?" I asked Collin.

"That was Jenna. She's undetermined. The only one here. Its kinda sad actually." he replied.

At the lava rock climb the next day, Jenna was noticably alone. Wandering, I sat down next to her.

I LOVE Percy Jackson and the Olympians! Can I play too?

Sure Jessica.   Thalin, I thought you were like, an exception for Artemis. How can you have cabinmates? What's it called when two half-bloods, say Percy and Annabeth, have kids. Are they, like, quarterbloods, or what?

At the campfire, the Apollo cabin led the sing along. Joe was singing the loudest, (and the worst) which made me laugh, when a girl sat down next to me.

"Hi there," she said. "I'm Thalin. From Artemis."

"Hi," I replied quietly, my voice barely heard over the singing, which was so loud the fire burned green for our spirit. "I'm Jenna." I hoped she didn't notice I did not say a cabin name.

She did. There was an awkward silence between us, but not for the other campers. "Nice night, huh?" she asked lamely.

"Yeah," I replied.

Thalin glared at Joe, who was practically shouting now. "Someone needs to shut him up."

I laughed in agreement, knowing I had just made another friend at Camp Half-Blood.

That meant my total score was two, not including the centaur.

Yeah. i am an exception, collin wasnt my cabinmate. He is from Hermes.

Gosh, i thought, that kid needs to be quiet. It must have come out of my mouth, because Jenna started laughing.

"How long have you known you were a half-blood?

"A pretty long time," she said listlessly.

"Hey, um do both of you want to go back to camp, cuz, like the sing along is over?" I think her friend, Joe said that.

We both laughed. I mean, its kinda hard not to. His face was red from singing so much. He seemed to be a very enthusiastic person.

(Do you think that we should find a person to play Joe? Cuz we are the only ones here.)

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. We don't have any male people yet, and Joe needs someone to play him.

When I first discovered that I was a demigod, I told a satyr to shut up. I totally didn't believe him, but gradually, I became convinced. Strange things accur around me, and people get hurt. I never had any friends, and always stuck out like a sore thumb. My parents abbandoned me when I was a baby, leaving me to rot in a moldering orphan's home. Gosh, I hate those guys. (No offense intended towards the gods)

As I got out of the big Camp Half Blood van, I looked around, sensing that I was entering a new stage in life. Maybe I would have friends here. The hill looked totally unimpressive, I mean, how could that thing keep monsters out of the camp? Argus looked at me kindly (or as kindly as someone with eyes all over can look) and nodded at the hill as if to say, Go on. I took the small bags containing my meager belongings and trudged up, up, up. When I reached the summit, I brushed my dark hair out of my eyes and almost cheered with happiness. Campers were doing target practice, climbing lava walls, and joking around with each other in the lake. Satyrs chased nymphs back and forth across the fields, hoping to get lucky and win a smooch. They never would.

That night, I sat at Hermes table, feeling nervous as the Hermes kids played pranks and tried to swat each other. One noticed me and introduced himself.

"Hi, I'm Collin. You new here?"

"Yeah," I replied, "My name's Tide."

"You're undetermined too huh?"

"Ummm...What exactly does that mean?"

Collin smiled mischeviously, "It means you haven't yet been claimed by your immortal parent. You don't know who they are."

I looked at the table in embarrasment. "I don't know who either of my parents are actually. I got dumped at a stupid orphan's home once they got tired of me."

"Well, at least you aren't the only undetermined. Jenna over there," he pointed at the other end of the table. "She is too. You should go say hi. She still doesn't know many people."

I got up unsurely, and made my way over to Jenna.

"Hi," I said nervously, "I'm Tide."

Jenna looked up from her plate of chicken, and smiled.

"You don't look much like Hermes." she observed.

"I know," I said awkwardly, "I'm not a Hermes. I'm undetermined and totally new. Not so cool huh?"

Her grin just got wider. "I don't really like to tell people this, even though almost everyone knows, but I'm undetermined too. I hated it when I was the only one. Like I was left out of something."

I instantly liked her. She seemed so nice. I sat down next to her, and felt so happy that I was going to burst. Score one on friends.

We ate together and afterwards went to a sing along. She introduced me to Joe, her friend, and I could tell that he liked to do karioke from the enthusiasm with which he sung. It would have been a nightmare for the American Idol judges. In between one of the songs, Jenna pulled me to my feet.

"Come on, there's someone I want you to meet!"

We walked up to a girl a few years older than me and Jenna. Her name was Thalin, and she was an Artemis. She was so nice to me that I could feel my face cracking open with an unresistable smile.

I went to bed that night thinking that I had finally found a place where I fit in. I'd made friends and things were finally looking up for me. (Even if I did have to put up with dirty Hermes socks in my bed) Camp Half Blood was definitely the place where I belonged.

Umm, are you a girl or a boy? I think I may have used the wrong gender-specific pronouns. So excuse me if I did.  :)
