I'm obsessed with Esperanza Rising, has anyone read it? I just wonder.
Also, I don't speak English, but could the admins translate? I really
like the website and use the magazine to help me learn English. I really
enjoy it so thank you very much. Anyway, I love this book. Which is your favourite character? Mine is Hope! :)

Welcome to the Chatterbox, la_chica_española! I read Esperanza Rising for school a few years ago, and I don't remember a whole lot of it, but the author (Pam Muñoz Ryan) is one of my favorite authors and has written a lot of my favorite books! Have you read Echo or Becoming Naomi León? I believe they both have Spanish translations too.
I've been taking Spanish for 4 years now and it's so fun :) It's such a cool experience to learn a new language, because it's kind of like seeing the world in a different light. It's too bad we can't talk in Spanish on the Chatterbox, but good luck with learning English! When I started learning Spanish I realized how absurd English language rules are, and Spanish makes way more sense. But hopefully it won't be too difficult :)

I have read Becoming Naomi Leon but not any the other ones. I have using Google Translate now. So I will be better at understanding.
That is very nice that you know Spanish and it is also cool that other people know too. Thank you for being so good about me being from Spain.
My real name Lucía. If you wondering. This probably not a great translation and I am sorry. But hopefully it is better than the Admines translating, maybe.

Don't worry, you're doing pretty well with English! It can be really hard to learn a new language; even just practicing Spanish is kind of hard for me sometimes since I don't hear it that often. I hope you're enjoying being on the CB, though! Oh, and I think your name is really pretty :)
I remembered another good book written in Spanish: La gota de agua, by Vicente Leñero. It's set in Mexico City. It doesn't have much of a plot, but it's a funny, entertaining book. (Not as good as Los árboles mueren de pie, though!) Oh, and also I'd recommend Diario de Pilar en Grecia, by Flavia Lins e Silva, (written in Portuguese originally), and El club de los raros, by Jordi Sierra i Fabra, which is about accepting yourself and other people. They're both quite interesting!

Hello, la_chica_española! I'm Periwinkle (you can call me Peri for short, though). I love Esperanza Rising! It is such a good story. I haven't read it in a while, but I remember liking Esperanza.

Thank you! I am probably going leave the CB (i think that is what you all call it?) but you all have been so very helpful and kind. Also thank you Admins for translating. :)
You're very welcome. It's a pleasure to hear from you.
