Has anyone ever
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Has anyone ever been in a book club? I started one with my friends a long time ago, but after a while it kind of died, especially after we stopped going to the same school :( But this year I got to start one at my school, and it's been fun so far! I'm an introvert so I've been pretty stressed about leading a club, but I don't think I'm doing too badly xD So far we've read Front Desk by Kelly Yang and Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston. Our next book is Parked by Danielle Svetcov. We also hosted a Harry Potter trivia contest during a club showcase thing this week.
If you're in a book club, what book are you reading and what's it like? I think we tried doing a CB book club at some point but it kind of disintegrated. Maybe we should try again sometime!

I've read Front Desk!
In my mom's book club, not one of the members ever finished a book. Ever.
I go to girl scouts, and it's a really fun, amazing experience for me because a few of my best friends ever are in it, and we do girl scout camping, which is the most amazing fun way to bond ever. Last year, we went camping in the winter (in the city I live it was the temp and weather of summer, yet we went only an hour away and there was like a foot of snow, an added benefit) and me and my friends AD, NC, and ET just formed this amazing friendship and spent all our fun together and stayed up all night and passed notes and sled and read all the books each other brought and it was WONDERFUL. Since we're all HUGE readers we decided to start a weekly book club, and on our first meeting at my house we just talked about the books we wanted to read, decided on the Mysterious Benedict Society and played on the trampoline and talked and laughed. Next week, we met at AD's house, and me and one other finished the book. Nobody else remembered, which was actually really awesome, because we talked about everything that happens to us, went to the neighborhood market and overloaded on candy, then went to the park and did a roleplay game. That happened to be the very same day the schools said, "welp, we're staying home for two weeks," and we were all like, "wow, infinite time together!"
Yeah, no. We never had another book club meeting but since we can do in person stuff again I really want to start that back up. I love my friends.
I'd be super open to a CB book club! (I might not read the books sometimes though, not because I don't want to, if I get the book I will absolutely DEVOUR IT in the first half-hour, but we don't really go to the library that much which sucks, if you ask me.)

That sounds awesome! Sometimes a book club can just be an excuse to hang out with your friends, which is also great. Your friends sound really nice!
Did you like Front Desk? It's one of my favorite books ever.

Ooh, starting a book club here can be a pretty impressive idea. Maybe we can borrow books from library if we don't have it. We can make book club thread in Blab about Books.

I'd do that!
