Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Rangers Apprentice Series, by John Flanagan
I recently started...

I recently started this book series called Ranger's Apprentice by John
Flanagan. So far I have read the first 5 books, and Flanagan has not
ceased to amaze and entertain me.

The Ranger's Apprentice books are about a young boy named Will who is an
orphan. He has talents and abilities that nobody seems to appreciate
and understand. Nobody, that is, until he meets Halt, one of the top
rangers in the king's Ranger Corps. Will learns all sorts of things
about being a ranger through his apprenticeship, and goes through many
trials on many adventures (captured by scandians, fighting a mythical
beast, preventing Araluen from total invation, making unusual allies to
fight the Temuji, rescuing a princess, etc.) before he finaly achieves
his goal of becoming a full-fledged ranger with his own fief
(township). This is an excelent series for all ages full of adventure
and excitement. Flanagan knows how to keep the pages turning!  Would
recomend it to anyone!

*cries* I know, I know. But... *sobs* it was so sad, and it was his *dream*, to take over Aruleun, or whatever the place was called, and, and... he only got to live for /two books/, and Horace is what, sixteen, it's unfair that the wonderful evil brilliant knight guy would get killed by a *little boy*, and, I mean, forget about all the death and destruction he wanted to cause, conquest of Aruleun was this- thing that he had been planning for so many years, and looking foward to, and then... then he *died*... and it was so sad... *sobs*
