The Wednesday Wars
I love the...

I love the Wednesday Wars. If you haven't read it, you should. It's by Gary D. Schmidt, and it's about a seventh grader named Holling Hoodhood who thinks his English teacher hates him. Half of his class is Catholic, and half is Jewish. He isn't either. On Wednesday afternoons, the Catholic kdis go to catechism, and the Jewish kids go to Hebrew school, and Holling is left alone. His teacher makes him read Shakespeare. There are a lot of cool parts of this book like cream puffs, rats, cross-country, baseball, and a camping trip. I've read another book by Gary D Schmidt called Okay for Now, and am reading another one called Pay Attention Carter Jones. They are all really good and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I read the Wednesday Wars in 7th grade, it was really good and we got to do a lot of fun activities with it in school. One of them was we got to eat a lot of the different foods and drinks that were mentioned in the book.

The college where my parents and sisters went is where Gary D Schmidt works! My sister even had a class that he taught which I think is pretty cool.

My mom heard about him on a podcast so she borrowed The Wednesday Wars from the library. I read it in a week, and I wish there was more. I'm not going to spoil anything, but I will say there's a reason that there aren't anymore books about Holling.

My mom read Wednesday Wars to me and my brother a while ago. It was pretty good. The only other one I've read by Gary D. Schmidt is, Number the Stars. I liked that one better than Wednesday Wars.
The well-known book "Number the Stars" is by Lois Lowry. Do you mean "What Came from the Stars"?

Darn it! I knew I'd get the name wrong! Yes, I meant What came from the stars. Sorry!
