1. A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. It's by Mark Twain, it's hilarious, and it also points out a lot of flaws in medeival feudalism (and also bashes Ivanhoe a lot, not that I mind). The story is pretty self explanatory if you look at the title–time traveling but everything is over 200 years ago.
2. A Long Way from Chicago. It's a great book, pretty short, and it's about a boy and his sister going to their grandmother's each summer.
3. The Tipping Point. Nonfiction, and it's about how trends and epidemics spread. It's easy to read, not too much complicated vocabulary, and really interesting.
4. The Communist Manifesto. Very wordy, very long, and highly political. I think it's worth reading if you're interested in the history of communism.
These aren't really my favorite books, but just some of the ones that I read recently and liked XD

I think everyone here knows what I like but here's goes a rant!
Heroes of Olympus is the best. End of conversation. There's just so much character development and honestly my heart belongs to percabeth! (Though I mean come one solangelo is amazing) Rick Riordan was the first author to teach first grade me what gay meant and about gender fluidity (with Alex Ferrio) I literally burst into tears when I heard that he wasn't writing anymore epic five book series. He is a legend and is ten times better then J.K Rowling. You can be controversial about that but her tweets were unacceptable and The Cursed Chile ruined by opinion of Harry.
Now some other books: The westing game. This book is incredible. It has a twist per a chapter. Everyone should read it at least once. Murder on the orient express. This is the classic. I love love love this book.

I've read Svetlana Chmakova's books before! I've read the Berrybrook miidle school series and Dramacon. They were all good.

I'm not ranking these, they're just in the order I thought of them.
The Selection! I love this book! I just got my own copy and the next two books today and I can't wait to read them! It was soo spell-binding!
The Lord of the Rings. (starts chanting) Three rings for the elven kings under the sky, Seven for the dwarf lords in their halls of stone. Nine for mortal men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne. Okay, yeah, I memorized that. The Lord of the Rings is no joke the greatest fantasy epic of all time!
The Hunger Games(Go Katniss!) I haven't actually finished this, but I just love it so much. I actually *spoiler* cried when Rue died.
The Tradewinds: This is a series, and the author got published as a teen. She is my hero. Anyway, the books are a super sweet story of friendship, true love, and loss. Plus, it's set in Hawaii. Shave ice, paddle boarding, all of Maui's tropical glory.
I have a lot more, but it would take too much time and thought, so we're ending here.

*starts chanting with you*
Glad to know I'm not the only one who's memorized that XD Agreed, LotR is the best fantsay ever. (Also, I also cried when Rue died T.T)
(March 4, 2021 - 10:39 pm)
YES I MEMORIZED THAT TOO!!!!
And I also cried when Rue died.

My top eight book series in no particular order are:
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians - Basically my favorite series since I was very young, I love them just as much now as I did then :)
- Heroes of Olympus - One of my favorites, Rick Riordan is such a great author.
- Harry Potter - A little overrated, I don't like JKR much but the books are a fun read
- Lord of the Rings - I could go on for DAYS about Tolkien's work. My favorite book from him is probably the Silmarillion, but LotR is /amazing/.
- Keeper of the Lost Citites - I love the characters and worldbuilding here <3
- Hunger Games - Omgggg honestly, who doesn't love the Hunger Games? Heartbreaking and yet very fun to read.
- Books of Bayern - Very obscure series by Shannon Hale that I love love love so much. The fairy tale elements are very enchanting~
- Lunar Chronicles - TLC is such a great series that did such an amazing job rethinking classic tales, and I love these characters with all of my heart <3333
(March 4, 2021 - 10:35 pm)
Ohh the Books of Bayern are amazing. Have you read the Princess Academy series by the same author?
(March 5, 2021 - 11:45 am)
Omg yes I loved the Princess Academy books!! (not as much as the Books of Bayern tho).
(March 5, 2021 - 10:42 pm)
Ohmygosh I was just about to post about HOW MUCH I LOVE THE Books of Bayern!!! I reread it like every year! It is a YA series, but I read it when I was 10, and I think 10+ is a good age to read it. It depends on what your parents think though.
Right now here's my favs! They aren't in a particular order, because I love all of them:
The Books of Bayern. So in this book series the first book is a retelling of "The Goose Girl" by the Brothers Grimm, and the second, third and fourth follow the side characters of the first book. I LOVE this series so much! Also, Shannon Hale has another series called "Princess Academy" that I love too!
The Mysterious Benedict Society I love this series so so so much! I have reread this twice! The author (Trenton Lee Stewart) recently came out with a fourth book, but I don't like it that much. I mean, it's nice to read more following the characters, but it follows them when they're like 20, so I don't like that they're not kids anymore.
Little Women So I read this in 2019 and I loved it! It's so beautiful and has amazing morals.
Flavia de Luce I read this series (there's 13 books I believe) during quarintine and I fell in love! It follows an 11-year-old budding chemist, who solves murder mysteries. It's set in 1950s England. It's so good!

The best book in the world according to Morning, as many people probably know because I rant about it a lot, is...
The Book Thief
I love this book so much. I have read it... I think three times now, and every time I read it, I cry more. I am a self centered person and, much as I hate it, I don't cry for much besides myself. Yet somehow, this author has created characters who are so real to me that even though I know their fates and everything they do, their sweetness and bravery and internal beauty can turn me into a shower faucet. Movies make me cry even less than books, and even the adapation of this had me weeping. The narrator is ingenius, the plot is about a million tiny tragedies and wonders within a terrible time, and the characters are real and flawed, yet this somehow makes them perfect. Plus, it's about reclaiming words after Hitler twisted them to his own use, and this technique of writing a book about the power of words is so beautiful and powerful. I love this book.
After this, there's no particular order, I just like these books.
The Princess Bride
I am totally obsessed with original fairytales and retellings, and this book is among the best. There's some of everything for fantasy lovers, including my person checklist: love (both romantic and family/friends), betrayal, and death. Revenge, geniuses, evil royalty, red herrings... it's so good. And, while the romance is essential for the story, it's not overpowering like in so many YA books. It's another element of the story, not the whole point. Which is just SO refreshing.
The Mysterious Benedict Society
This series has been on my list of favorite books since I listened to the audio book when I was four or five, and it has stood the test of time. It's about four people of varying ages, from three (and it's awesome to see a three-year old girl who actually acts like she's three, has an actual mind, and isn't wearing a fluffy pink dress. Like, literature so often depicts little kids as absolute angels who go on charming little adventures with their stuffed animals and listen to their mommies and daddies, but Constance faces danger in a possible if not probable version of the real world, and she acts like an actual child: stubborn, self centered, sleepy, and annoying. And I'll stop singing her praises now because this is getting long.) Anyway, four kids, ages three to thirteen (ish, I can't actually remember their ages XD) who defeat an evil mastermind with the help of his not-evil-but-also-a-mastermind twin brother. Oh, and also? So many middle grade and young adult books just let you take it for granted that a bunch of kids/teenagers are saving the world instead of leaving it to the adults who actually have a clue about what they're doing. But this book gives a reason. Kids ARE the only one who can do this. It's awful, having children go to the den of the beast, but it is neccesary and there is a reason. Anyway, it's a great book.
Flavia de Luce
YES! Cynthia, these books are awesome. Flavia is wonderful, although I would absolutely hate having her as my sister. She's a genius at chemestry, but she has so many layers, and, besides the thrilling, intriguing mystery plots, its wonderful to see her grow as a person. Great books, wonderful mysteries, and they have kept me alive through quarantine.
There's more, obviously, but that's all for now.
