Do any of you guys wish that Katniss got married with Gale? Or that Finnick didn't die? Or that Rue didn't die? Or that...
I think the Hunger Games trilogy's ending is a bit not nice... What do you think?

I actually like that Katniss got married to Peeta, but that might just be me. Yeah, I wish that not so many of the characters died, especially Prim, that was just the saddest ever. The ending was okay, I guess.

I don't actually like Gale much, in my opinion, he's one of those mostly-characterless, handsome best friends who is a staple in dystopian romances. I know Katniss would never marry him, and I was perfectly fine with that. My sister isn't, but I think it's mostly because she has a massive crush on Peeta and wants him to herself.
I'm fine with Rue's death. I mean, it was sad, but I never got to see farther than her sweet innocence, and she was better for the story dead than alive.
Finnick? He's one of my favorite characters. The last time I read it, I forgot that he died, and I cried so hard when it happened. He's completely incredible, he sacrificed so much, and then, as soon as he is finally able to have a chance at happiness with his true love, he got eaten by a bunch of mutts. I think it was an incredible storytelling choice, it added depth... and I wish with all my heart that it hadn't happened.

Yeah, I don't really like Gale.
Finnick dying was SO sad!

I agree. I thought that Peeta was a bit boring. If Gale got a bit more character development I think he would have been perfect for Katniss.

Personally I liked Katniss with Gale way better than Peeta, but I can see why she picked Peeta. And I REALLY REALLY wish that Finnick and Rue hadn't died, but I get that Rue pretty much had to die for the story to happen.

I hated Rue's death... not so much Finnick though for some reason, I don't know why. She was so innocent...
As for Gale vs. Peeta I was originally rooting for Gale, but I can understand why she went with Peeta. I just thought it was really OOC for Gale to just move away and never see Katniss again. Like, they were best friends for life and Gale had a nickname for her and everything and he was also supposedley in love with her and then he just up and left her forever? That just didn't make any sense to me.
The Hunger Games ending for me was a bit sudden and abrupt, but not bad, overall. I love this series :)

I don't like Katniss x Peeta or Katniss x Gale, but I think Katniss x Gale is worse tbh. I kind of wish that we didn't know whether they got married or not.
Yeah, I did not like the third book. A ton of the characters died, but not from the Hunger Games, and it started just feeling stupid and pointless, so I wouldn't be sad but instead confused when a character died.
Saffron -- What do you mean, "pawum?" Are you confused by a paw? Do you mean to say "Panum?" because that is actually pretty close.

I was fine (ish) with Rue dying, but Prim and Finnick was honestly too much. And I think that Katniss would actually be better on her own, but if Prim was still alive she might've married Gale or Peeta?!

When Prim died I actually thought the author was playing a trick on us. It was horrible.
I liked Katniss x Peeta better from the start, and ultimately I think their relationship is a better one than Katniss x Gale.
Rue's death was expected, but she was one of my favorite characters- kind, quiet, and innocent, but resourceful and skilled. It made me so sad. :(
How many of you have read Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes? I really enjoyed it. Sejanus was my favorite character.

Oooh I've read the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes! Did I already tell you that somewhere? Probably, but I have a horrible memory, so here we are. Sejanus was my favorite character, too :) It all just made it so hard to hate Snow. Also, you know Tigris, his older cousin who was basically his sister? She was the same Tigris that ran the store in Mokingjay and hid Katniss & her friends. It was so sad to realize that, because the Tigris in Mokingjay was so altered she wasn't even human anymore and it's hard to believe that she is the same person that loved Snow with all of her heart :(

I think we've mentioned it on re-introductions, but I'm definitely open to discussing. :)
It is so sad about Tigris! She saw the resourceful and ambitious kid grow up, then he just vanished from her life and became the Big Bad we know in the regular books. The ending was so, so good, and yet also so bad. Usually I don't "love to hate" most bad guys, but man...
And the mystery of Lucy Gray! It's almost certain all the Covey kids died, then. I always knew they wouldn't really end up together, since Coriolanus was too heartless and Lucy was too smart. It's so sad how Lucy could win, then have her victory be completely forgotten.
(December 12, 2020 - 9:51 am)
I know right?? Like, she wasn't even mentioned in the first Hunger Games book, it just said that there were two winners in the history of District 12 but Lucy Gray was not brought up once.
Oh, you know, I remember a part in first movie (i'm usually not a movie girl but this struck me as kinda interesting) where Snow is watching the games with a little girl (I'm not sure if this was his grandkid or something) and she says 'I hope I can love someone like that one day' while seeing Peeta and Katniss, and Snow says something along the lines of 'I'm sure you will one day", and now I'm confident that he was thinking about Lucy Gray, even if the actor probably didn't even know about her.
Also, this book was especially heartbreaking because you know how it ends but somehow you expect it to change at the last minute, and it's still shocking to you, even thouhg you knew the whole time.
