#ReviveBAB!

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

CB Book Club <3 (Take 2!)
#ReviveBAB!  ...

#ReviveBAB!

Way back in April or so I made a CB book club! It was actually pretty successful, and we all chose a book to start reading. Unfortunetely, I sort of had a low key breakdown around that time and despawned from the CB for three months. Whoops. Anyway, Lumi reminded me of the idea so I thought I'd start it up again as part of the #ReviveBAB movement!

The concept is kind of like school book clubs, except the books will be chosen by us (I'm looking at you, Catcher in the Rye sitting on my desk). First, we can vote on a book (suggest down below!). Then, we can all get the book to read. I know a lot of libraries are closed, so I would recommend Overdrive/Sora/Libby or Kindle if you have it. Next, we'll decide on how much we want to read each week. On a certain day, we can get together to discuss what happened!

Because I'm kind of inconsistent, If anyone wants to help me lead that would be awesome!

I also want to implement a new idea that's different from last time. I'm thinking that every week we could have a discussion leader that creates discussion questions we could answer!

Here's the sign up if you're interested!

oh my gosh! I was thinking the other day how I wanted this to be revived, it was such a good idea! I would love to help lead <3

Name: Majestic Mary

Favorite genres: fantasy, mystery, realistic fiction, drama (ish), really anything that isn't overly scary or adult.

Book suggestions:  I'll get back to you on this one. I have a lot...

Would you be interested in being a discussion leader?: Yes! Yes, definitely yes.

So are we going to read a specific amount of chapters each week, and then discuss at the end of the week? Or do we read the whole book at once? Either way, it will be awesome. Talk to you guys sooooon!

Thank you, Mary! I really liked the idea too! I could definitely use your help because I'm super bad at managing long term projects on the CB. Thank you so much for volunteering to help! <3

Book suggestions: I have so many. Um. The Mysterious Benedict Society. Always. The Book Thief. Best. Book. Ever. The Princess Bride. The Penderwicks. Counting by 7s. And I'll stop here.

All the books you suggested are REALLY good. I love The Penderwicks so much!!

To answer Mary and Pygmy's questions: I think we'll read a couple chapters per week (depending on the book) and come together on one day to discuss and set the reading for the next week. Discussion leaders would create some discussion questions and initiate the conversation on the discussion day.

*le gasp* THE PENDERWICKS??? COUNTING BY 7S?!?!?!?!? I LOVE THOSE BOOKS!! Oh and if we're looking at Counting by 7s, I recommend out of my mind (i dont believe its capitalized). It's a book about a girl with cerebral palsy, who can't talk, walk, or really do much of anything, but inside, she's really smart and an awesome person. She just can't show it.
