Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Mara Daughter of the Nile
I know most...

I know most haven't read this, but I just reread it for the second time, and it is altogether amazing!  I am normally not a romantic book type but... *sighs dreamily*  It really is a good love story.  The story is placed in Ancient Egypt.  I love historical fiction!!!!!! :)  But, it is not just about love.  It is a great action-filled book, too!

Mara is a slave, and that is all she has known.  But one sudden day, she is sold to a new master she knows nothing about.  This new master has her become a spy for the queen... or die.  As she is headed to become a spy, she meets a man, who also makes her become a spy... or die... but instead for the queen's brother, who is trying to win the crown.  A double-spy for two arch-enemies!!   How will Mara get out of this??

GREAT BOOK.  Read it!!!!!! :D  Anyone?

PS   I know, I'm rambling.

I had to read it for school two years ago. It was the best book out of all the school books, but I think I would like it better if I read it now because I wanted to, not because I had too! :):):)

It was pretty good. I had to read it for school, though, so....I like all the romance, though. That's one of my favorite things to read about lately.

I also read it for school last year. I'm with Julia, I think I would have liked it better if it hadn't been required! It was okay, in my opinion. My friend really loved it.

I have a huge interest in Ancient Egypt, so I should read this.

Since when has reading something for school caused a decrease in the quality? I'm confused. I don't understand the concept...

Well, when you're told, "You have to read this by the sixteenth!" you sort of don't love it so much after that...at least in my opinion...

Yeah, and when you have to read however many pages per day, it just kinda takes the fun out of it. Especially when you're not right on schedule, so you get behind and have to start reading another book at the same time... it doesn't decrease the quality of the book, just takes the fun out of reading it on your own time and schedule.
