ohhhhhhhhhh yes. yes yes yes yes yes yes.
ALLLLLLLLLLLL of the greenglass house books MUST BE READ. Greenglass House, Ghosts of Greenglass House, Bluecrowne, the Left-Handed Fate, Boneshaker, the Broken Lands, the Thief Knot (my fave), the Kairos Mechanism, and the Raconteur's Commonplace Book (not published yet).
Orphan Island is definitely a must-read... 13 Curses is good.
I would also add:
1. Children of Blood and Bone and Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi, and
2. Scary Stories for Young Foxes by Christian McKay Heidicker.

I looked at Children of Blood and Bone on the OPL website and it seems interesting. Unfortunately I can't put it on hold (you can read my semirant on the Random Thoughts/Things thread if you're curious). I have read The Maze Runner and have mixed feelings (YAY! A MOVIE OF AN INTERESTING BOOK!/This is sooo in the deep end. Maze Runner is gory, awful, and freaky. What will Dad do? What will Dad do? *major worry*) I'm really excited for The Raconteur's Commonplace Book. @Adelaide, 13 Curses is part of a trilogy, if you didn't know that. Another recommendation is A River of Royal Blood. It has a really interesting ending.

Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger
The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

A great book series I just read is called Wheel of Time by Robert Jordon. It's really one of the best books I've read in a long time, it has 14 books in the whole series and they're really thick too! It's an old book series, first published in 1990.
You might want to ask your parents if they think it's OK to read... it's kinda intense and might not be approprivate for younger kids.

Yes! Ranger's Apprentice is THE BEST. I've read the first Mapmakers trilogy, and it was awesome. Here are a few other books that I think are awesome:
1. Fablehaven
2. Warriors
3. Lizard Music
4. Percy Jackson
5. Harry Potter 1-4 (the rest are okay, but Harry gets annoying)
6. The Kane Chronicles
7. Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard
8. A dog's Purpose
9. A dog's way home
There are a lot more, but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
p.s. I love the cat bug. I don't know its name but... mewy books are awesome!
Hi Lizard! Make sure you only submit a post once. We read each post before it's posted, so it takes a little while for a post to appear. It takes longer for the posts to appear if a post is submitted more than once. --admin

1. The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place by Maryrose Wood
2. Blackbird Fly by Erin Entrada Kelly
3. Drumroll Please by Lisa Jenn Bigelow
4. Becoming Naomi Leon by Pam Munoz Ryan
5. Matilda by Roald Dahl

The High Mountains of Portugal by Yann Martel is probably my favorite book at the moment. Read it last year for an English assignment and it really stuck with me. If you've read Life of Pi and enjoyed the more abstract/bizarre qualities you'd probably like High Mountains as well.
Currently reading No-No Boy by John Okada, considered the first known work of Asian-American literature I believe, very impactful book about Japanese-American struggles in the wake of Pearl Harbor.
Also highly recommend A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, really great and emotional book on gender inequality and womens' struggles in the Middle East. First time a book has made me cry in quite a while.

The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson (So far The Way of KIngs, Words of Radiance, and Oathbreaker. The fourth one is coming out in November. I can't wait!!!!)
A Tale Dark and Grimm series by Adam Gimwitz
Absoloutly Truly by Heather Vogel Fredrick
Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix by J.K. Rowling (it's kinda funny when Harry starts getting whiney.)
Little Men by Louisa May Alcott
(July 2, 2020 - 8:38 am)
I LOVE the Greenglass House.
Some more books that I would recommend:
Explorer Academy
Little Woman
