So, this is for anyone to put hints about a book and then others can guess it.

The second one is The Mysterious Benedict Society! I haven't read those books is a while, I really ought to. They have so many memories. . .

Same here! My grandmother got the first three as a set for me when I was eight, and my mom read them to me. They were a big part of our everyday conversation - my little brother called Reynie and Sticky "Reynie Washington" and "Sticky Muldoon".

Kinda unrelated - just how do you pronounce Reynie? I always said it like (ray-nee) but I listened to the audiobook and the narrator said (reh-nee).

Well, in the back of the 10th anniversary edition of the book, it says that Trenton Lee Stewart actually meant for us to pronounce it (reh-nee). But I've been saying (ray-nee) since I was about three or four years old, and I don't think I can change now.

And that's so cute about your brothers! When I was little, I was so obsessed with Kate Wetherall. I actually got my own little red bucket that I carried stuff around in. What is your opinion on the fourth book, by the way? I didn't like it much. I think that it would have been better if the author had kept the bittersweet ending of the third book without messing around with stuff afterwards. It might have been fine if the writing was really good, but the quality wasn't the same, and the illustrator was different, too, which just rubbed me the wrong way, for some reason.

I just reread the first three and then the fourth one, and I actually really liked it, though I wish they had kept the same illustrator. I like how it brought up the question of the group separating, because it would be unrealistic to expect the characters to stay the same forever.

Yeah, the second is The Mysterious Benedict Society, and the 3rd is Tuesdays In The Castle, right? Both are really good!!

@PygmyOwl - to me, the fourth book felt like a really weird fanfiction (or an overly long version of the epilogue from Deathly Hallows - don't even get me started on that one) It didn't really feel like it had anything to say that hadn't been said much better in the first three, and the entire third act just feels...off.  The book really felt like it was written by a different author who was trying to copy Stewart's style, and the fact that it had a different illustrator (even though that may not have been in their control) made me sad. I love the old illustrations so much!

@Lupine - I love Tuesdays at the Castle too! My library's summer reading programs had a bunch of really awesome prizes for completing it before the summer was out, and one of them was a free book (from a small selection) at our local B&N - that book was one of them. I usually don't love fantasy, but the book is JUST SO GOOD and going back to it now, the writing still feels really accessible and - (sorry i'm gushing i'll stop now) Strangely enough, I couldn't stand the sequels...how about you?

I think I liked the sequels, but I haven't read them in a long time. Have you read any other books by that author?

Also just curious, but where did the name Bakerloo come from?

*looks up "Bakerloo"* It's a line on the London Underground. I'm not sure where I first heard it, though...

Oh, I remember now! I read that book a few months ago. It's Small Spaces, right? It was a pretty good book, actually, although it's not the style I usually read.

THANK YOU FOR THIS THR-EDDD

Book #1: This book is about a young shapeshifter with a habit of changing her hair color.

Book #2: A young half-Chinese girl struggles to deal with the racism in her new town. Also it's set in the 1800s... (I think)

Book #3: 5 friends attend basically a camp for "tough lady-types". Lots of people know this one...
