Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book discoveries?
ok, so, I...

ok, so, I found a copy of the first book in the Memoirs of Lady Trent series in a used bookseller in Victoria, Canada, on a vacation. It was way in the back on the lowest shelf of behind a stack of other books and things, and the cover was promising (don't judge a book by it's cover, I know, I know), and when I read it I found it was really good. It was sort of a random find, and I was pretty sure no one had seen it for a little while. Also, it had a really beautiful bookmark, with black-and-white graphics, already in its pages. And it had been published quite a while ago by an american author (I live in california) but I had never seen it before, so it seemed like a really good find.

soooo anyways I was just wondering if anyone else has a cool/random/obscure physical book discovery to share. (I say "physical" because I know a lot of people nowadays use Amazon and the web to buy stuff.) I'd like to read any experiences you have!

At a book sale they were having at a crepe shop (if you don't already know, a crepe is a French pancake, THEY ARE SO GOOD!!), and I found Ella Enchanted at the bottom of the box, and since then, I have reread it 4 times!! It isn't as cool as your story, though! That does seem like a great find!

I know you probably meant something different than that, but that is all I could think of right now.
