Wow, these character sentences sound like some really good books, but I have not read any of them. And yes, The Underneath is one of my favorite books! I've never met anyone who has read it (well in person).

Amari is from Children of Blood and Bone. I loved that book and its sequel. Can't wait for the next one!

Secret: Simon is from Simon v The Homo Sapiens Agenda (or Love, Simon, if the movie is more recognizable).
Icy: is your second character the Argo from Percy Jackson? It's been a long time since I read those books, so I don't remember if it ever turns into some sort of "person." Wouldn't be surprised, though.
