Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!!!
42!!!! 42!!!! ...

This series pwns ALL other series (except for HP and PJ--well, it's a three-way tie) and was written by a British comedian! What more could you want?!

I saw the "42!!! 42!!!" bit and immediately went into hysterics...
What more could I want? DNA to still be alive.

42 was my locker number last year.

Need I say more?

I'm planning to read it.

The Hitchhikers Guide is so darn funny!!!! I think my favorite character is Marvin.

Um, I'm confused. What's it about? What's 42?

What does 42 have to do with anything? Like Mary, I'm confused. What could I want more than a series written by a British comedian? I can think of quite a few things.
Is the 42 some inside joke? I saw on the MuseBlog that person who tries to always get the forty-second post.

This summer I went to a camp that was very HG2G-centric (eg. wear bathrobes & carry towels on Thursday). Everything was done 42 times.

Don't you think that's a tad mean, Lena? *shrugs* Just me.
Anyhoo....
Though 42 isn't an inside joke, you have to either read the book Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy or see the movie. As the story goes, two kids build this computer to explain to them the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. After a couple million years, they come back and the computer gives them the answer - and I quote -
"The answer to the meaning of life....the universe....and everything is.....42."
Whaaaaaaat?
Exactly! *jabs someone in the face* XD
Sooooo.....yeah.
So long and thanks for all the fish, peeps!

I have now read them (well, I'm like three chapters away from being done with number five), and they immediately vaulted up to my All-Time Favourite Book List. As a bonus I now actually enjoy sci-fi. And books were Earth gets blown up... though it should've just stayed destroyed IMHO.
The last two books were very well-written, but didn't measure up to the first three for me.
Additionally, Marvin is by far the best character. And then he DIED. *scowl*
Why'm I posting on this very obviously dead thread? Because we only have TEN DAYS left before school starts and I therefore have to waste as much time as possible. I won't have time to waste time once schoolo starts.
Good logic, yes? /joking/
