Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Since this seems to be the thing to do at the moment and because I'm bored of farming Gorgok on DF... In no particular order...
1. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. Lovelovelovelovelovelovelove...
2. Old Possom's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. Because it's awesome.
3. Cry of the Icemark, Stuart Hill I think (to lazy to look it up).
4. Prey by Michael Crichton whose name probably isn't spelt right.
5. Harry Potter, SS-HBP by J.K. Rowling. Didn't like DH except for the Bellatrix scenes.
6. Dracula by Bram Stoker.
7. Anything by Edgar Allen Poe.
8. Anything by Terry Pratchett.
9. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "Trilogy" by Douglas Adams, who, like Paolini, wrote five books in a trilogy but didn't randomly switch the title to "cycle", because he's a ba like that. *nodnod*
10. Skullduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy
11. Death in Yellowstone b Lee H. Whittlesey. Nonfiction account of every death in the first national park FTW, oh yes.
12. The Beast in the Garden by David Baron. Nonfiction, again.
13. Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Waterson. Well, it's a comic and not a book but I don't care.
14. Jennifer Government by Max Barry.
15. 1984 by George Orwell
16. Animal Farm by George Orwell
17. Jumper by Steven Gould. Infinitely superior to the movie, plot's totally different too.
18. Wicked by Gregory Maguire. Despite all the squick in the Emerald City.
19. The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis.
20 Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
21. Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick
22. Notes from the Midnight Driver by Jordan Sonnenblick
23. Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Melissa Pessl (spelling?)
24. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls
25. State of Fear by Michael Crichton.
More may follow. Or not. I dunno. Back to farming Gorgok, I suppose. *sigh*

Huh. I think I've actually read the majority of these. I like HP, Dracula, EAP, Douglas Adams, Skulduggery, Fahrenheit 451, and Narnia to a certain extent, though CSL could have done better (less family histories and prose, more action? Yes. I think that may have worked.). I must disagree on Calvin and Hobbes (dull, if memory serves). Also, I found Calamity Physics disappointing. See thread on CRR when I finally have the time to type up my thoughts...

Also, Calamity Physics was Marisha Pessl, not Melissa. Front!

I like Calvin and Hobbes! Calvin is a stuck-up brat, but Hobbes is cool!

I've only read 5 and 19 - great, in my opinion.

Calvin and Hobbes is so awesome! Have you read Zits? It's another funny comic book! And Baby Blues is good too! And of course, Peanuts and Garfield! :D

The only comics I really like are Calvin and Hobbes and Far Side. The rest just... I dunno... Don't really appeal to me much.

Well, and JtHM. <3 for JtHM.

I've have read some of those books. But I didn't finish Animal Farm, for some reason. i think that you would like books by Chris Wooding.
