Eleventh rhymes with...
Eleventh rhymes with seventh, haha.
Anyway, the next thread for our next-generation HP roleplay. Er, fanfiction, really, to tell the truth. It stopped being a roleplay when all the Hogwarts people left (read: got exasperated with the Bella-Voldy-Wolfbar-Belinda fanfiction Mary W. and I were writing...)
Right. So. MW said she was having problems loading the last one. Plus, the number was wrong on the last one. Shouldn've been tenth.
Carry on!

OT: Found the AVPM soundtrack today. <3.))
//Bellatrix//
Potter's funeral was scheduled on a Saturday afternoon.
Ordinarily Bellatrix wouldn't have much cared for such a petty detail as a funeral date, but, given that it was Potter... Naturally things had to be stirred up a little.
So she attended, ghosting into the solemn hall while the auror at the entrance was occupied with a hysterical Ginny. The Death Eater vanished quietly into the shadows, wand out in case of discovery.
There were a lot of tears, she noticed idly as the ceremony dragged on. And a lot of tedious speeches about Potter's dedication to his work, his friends, and his family, and staggering amount of condolences offered to the remaining Potters.
Bellatrix found it all very amusing.
After the ceremony, she followed the newly widowed Mrs. Potter and her son as they left. The children (James and Lily, wasn't it? Cute. Bellatrix rolled her eyes.) left with her grand-nephew while Ginny stayed behind to cry a bit.
It was pathetic, so naturally Bellatrix leaned forward and tapped the redhead's shoulder.
Ginny whirled around with a startled cry to find the Death Eater grinning wickedly at her.
"Ginny, isn't it?" Bellatrix asked cheerily. "Dreadfully sorry about your dear husband."
Mrs. Potter stared at her incredulously, paling considerably and sniffing tearfully.
"Killing him so quickly, that is," the Death Eater continued. "A pity, but necessary because, well... Your little Ministry again. A bloody shame."
Her victim had somewhat gained her composure by this time, and spoke angrily, "You've got a lot of nerve- Bellatrix-" the name was a snarl- "coming here. The aurors-"
"Are occupied in the front, trying to stop your brother from bashing his head against the wall until he dies. Imperius curse, you see."
Ginny went for her wand at that. Bellatrix beat her to it and sent the redhead sprawling.
"Don't really see why you're so upset about it, though," Bellatrix continued in a musing tone. "I mean, when my husband died..."
"You're a monster."
"Mm, maybe. Albus sends his regards."
Bellatrix Disapperated before Ginny had a chance to respond.
She was laughing even before she had completely materialized in the library.

((Everyone on here is raving about that [AVPM] so much that I'm beginning to wonder if I should just ask to watch it... Is there much adult content?))
//Albus//
Albus had been about to enter the library, but before he could open the door he heard some rather frightening laughter coming from inside. Bellatrix was out, as far as he knew- unless she was back, he supposed it was probably one of those books of hers. Cautiously, he turned the handle.
Bellatrix looked up. "Oh, hello Albus. It would be rather bad form to say I greatly enjoyed your father's funeral, wouldn't it?"
"Well, normally probably yes..." Albus hesitated. "But under the circumstances I s'pose that's fine..."
"Yes, it was rather amusing," said Bellatrix conversationally. "I'm afraid your dear mother was a bit of a wreck... I told her you said hello and all, hope that reassured her a bit."
Albus let out a half-choked squawking noise. "She saw you?"
"Now, now, don't excite yourself so," said Bellatrix. "Of course she saw me, where would be the fun if someone didn't? By my standards we had a relatively pleasant conversation as well. She called me a monster," she added in slightly accusing tones.
"Oh..." Albus blinked. "That's... nice."
"Yes, and I'm afraid I foresee your uncle having a bit of a headache by this evening..." She clucked her tongue. "It's a pity, the extremes these people go to expressing their grief..."
Albus nodded slowly. "Er... I'm glad you had a good time."

((There is a fairly large amount of swearing, I'm afraid, and the QxV thing, I suppose. But that's it.))
//Bellatrix//
"As am I, darling," Bellatrix said with a grin, "as am I." She left, saying over her shoulder, "Mind the dark untitled book on the left, it's having one of those days."
The Death Eater smirked and glided away down the corridor.
//Ginny//
Harry dead, Ron hospitalized for massive hemorrhages in his brain, and Albus being held captive by Bellatrix Lestrange... Ginny felt perfectly justified in crying for a good long while.
(September 19, 2009 - 4:06 pm)
((Ah... I see.
And I'm currently very angry at the entire world, so...))
//Albus//
Albus might once have harboured some ill will against staying in a house with Dark wizards who had killed his father. Specifically he might once have avoided libraries with books that had "one of those days." But now, scanning the shelves for the kind of reading material his mother would have happily burned, he felt perfectly at ease. And when a large green leather-bound tome appeared to sneeze, he didn't even cringe.

WHAT??!!! YOU KILLED HARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my gosh!!!
Sorry I haven't been doing this. I probably wont be. Is it mostly just TNO, Holly, and Mary?
(September 21, 2009 - 3:03 pm)
((@Bekah: Erm... yes. Yes we did. Sorry. And it would seem to be mostly me, Mary, and Chloe, haven't seen Holly for a while.))

With Harry gone, there was wild speculation throughout the wizarding community in general as to how soon He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (because now that he was definitely back, nobody was saying Voldemort anymore...) would take the Ministry. Most figured it would be within the week, and that England as a whole would fall in months.
Kingsley, naturally, wasn't much impressed with this idea. He had the Ministry churning out anti-Dark pamphlets, fliers, and precautionary statements; the Daily Prophet was now devoted almost entirely to obituaries and reassuring statements by various aurors. The Order had been reestablished and membership was at an all time high. The auror ranks were growing, too, as training was sped up and tests were largely forgone.
The Ministry, in short, was building up an army.
What they didn't know, of course, was that the Dark Lord had no intentions of fighting them. In fact he was a mite bit insulted that they thought he was stupid enough to try.
No, the Dark Lord intended to wait for society to wear itself down on its own terror (the masses of Dementors recently "liberated" from Azkaban were going to speed that along greatly) while he quietly converted minor persons in the Ministry- secretaries, bookkeepers, mostly- to his cause.
A giant political office like the Ministry would collapse if its finances and important paperwork vanished out from underneath it. And then he would breeze in with a conquering army, kill all the major officials (never mind if they swore to serve him, panicked promises were broken more often than not) and take the Ministry.
In the meantime the Dark Lord surreptitiously started to gather a real army, largely from foreign countries. For the most part they stayed scattered out through the mountains with strict instructions as to where to Apperate to if they were called.

((@ Bekah: Welcome back. And yes, Harry is definitely dead. *nod* And there will be absolutely no returning-from-the-hallucination-of-the-train-station here. Also, Holly and Chloe both occasionally show up and post once or twice, but they seem to find certain things (e.g. killing Harry...) a bit, shall we say, disturbing perhaps... I guess I can see why.))
//Albus//
Bellatrix, Rabastan, and sometimes Draco or Wolfbar were out quite a bit, mainly recruiting, which left Albus to his own devices. On occasion, though, he would practice dueling with Belinda, the only other terribly enthusiastic member of the household. Belinda was notably better than Albus, as could be gathered by the numerous scorch marks on his robes and a rather unpleasant cut on his cheek, but the younger boy had a much easier time of it than he would've with Bellatrix. It wasn't easy to break through Belinda's defenses, but it wasn't exactly difficult either.
She didn't talk much, but Albus supposed that considering they were dueling it wasn't the best time for small talk. And anyhow, he could usually tell when he was doing something wrong by the disgusted look on her face.
When not practicing either with Belinda or by himself, Albus continued reading up on various branches of Dark magic, or the history of such. New Year's Day had passed and his twelfth birthday was approaching, and the weather stayed cold and frozen the few times Albus had ventured outside. Albus remained in the dark as to all but a very vague idea of the Dark Lord's plans, but he suspected that the biding of time in Slytherin manor was almost over.

//Kingsley//
"Bankrupt? /Bankrupt?!/" Kingsley gaped at the nervous looking secretary in front of his desk. "How can we be bankrupt?!"
"I- I- I don't kkknow, sir." The secretary seemed to shrink. "Iiiit just hhhappened."
"Just like that," Kingsley asked coldly.
"A-a-a-apparently," whispered the secretary.
//Voldy//
The Daily Prophet had, in recent weeks, become largely useless as a source of information. It did, however, splatter the news of Ministry bankruptcy all over the front page (making a nice change from yet another headline about how the aurors had had a breakthrough as to the Dark Lord's location). The public reaction was rather predictable- more panic, anger, finger-pointing at the Ministry's incompetency, demands for protection- all very amusing.
It was time.
The Dark Lord smiled wickedly and called the three remaining Death Eaters.
They appeared promptly--Bellatrix, Draco, Rabastan, all within seconds of each other--Bellatrix looking exhilarated, Rabastan and Draco looking a bit nervous but eager all the same.
"You know what to do," the Dark Lord said silkily.
The three of them bowed and then Apparated away. Within two minutes, the decently-sized army that they had been gathering would be arriving at the Ministry- Apparating and pouring out of the giant fireplaces, and within the hour, the Dark Lord was certain, the Ministry would fall. It might take longer, of course, depending on how many aurors were in and how many were out looking for the Death Eaters and their master.
Regardless, it would fall.
The Dark Lord watched his army start to vanish from the field outside the window, then turned on his heel and Apparated into the Ministry courtroom.
A trial was in full session. A suspected Death Eater, or some such, no doubt. He was a thin, pale, gangly man with a mass of blond hair and was definitely not one of the Dark Lord's servants.
The full Wizengamot stared down at the Dark Lord.
The Dark Lord smiled brightly back up at the Wizengamot.
"Cheers, you lot," he said lightly, fighting the urge to laugh.
Then he whipped his wand through the air and (accompanied by an eruption of chaotic sounds from many floors above as the fight began) sent curses in every direction, dodging lightly out of the way as several witches got their wits together and fought back.
He ducked behind the chair in the center of the room and hissed, "What've you done?"
"Poisoned my neighbors," said the blond-haired man said dully.
"Why?"
A rattle of chains indicated that the man had shrugged. "They were too loud."
The Dark Lord sighed; he had little use for sociopaths. "Right." He darted out from behind the chair and sent more curses flying through the room.

((Yes, I'm back. Harry+dead=awesome!))
Hazel was in shock. Her almost-uncle Harry Potter was dead. Killed by Bellatrix Lestrange, no less. And she suspected that Albus' supposed "capture" by He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and the others was voluntary, not forced. And she all but knew where those Slytherins, Belinda, Oliver, and Drusilla were as well. What she didn't know was that the aforementioned Drusilla was actually dead.
---------------------
Hazel frowned at the ground, listening intently to the droning official speaking at Harry Potter's funeral. She had been considered close enough family to the Potters to be let out of school to attend the funeral. She looked at James, her face sympathetic though he hardly would notice. He didn't want to spend time with her anymore, no, not with other boys his age around. Hazel sighed. Then she had an idea. 'Maybe James and I can start a second generation DA, in memory of James' father and in preperation for the times ahead. I know where teh RoR is!', she thought. 'Perhaps that would help James recover from his father's death?'
((Hazel is back in the piccy! Although I'm rebuilding her personality as I've forgotten what she was like, lol.))
(September 22, 2009 - 7:35 pm)
((Your GLAD Harry's dead???!!!))
(September 23, 2009 - 1:29 pm)
((Oh joy! *grin* They're taking over the Ministry!
@ Jenni: Welcome back. :) Oh, and Oliver's dead too, Belinda killed him.
@ Bekah: ...Are you not?))
//Albus//
"They just left." Belinda did a little bit of a dance. "Bellatrix told me before they Apperated. I wish I could've gone too, but I s'pose there'll be time enough for that sort of thing in the future..."
The remaining tenants of Slytherin manor- Albus, Wolfbar, Belinda, Scorpius, Pansy- were in the kitchen, all with varying emotions towards the events of the past fifteen minutes. Belinda was the most excited, Wolfbar seemed a bit dazed, and the Malfoys wrere alternately terrified and subdued. Adrenaline was coursing through Albus' veins. He could understand why Belinda was so jumpy.
"When'll they be back, d'you think?" Scorpius looked concerned.
Belinda laughed harshly. "Soon, I'm sure. Hardly going to be difficult, all things considered..." She trailed off in a way that left no doubt as to her opinion of the Ministry.
"Then what'll happen?" asked Albus. "After they take the Ministry, I mean. What'll they do then?"
Belinda shrugged. "Not entirely sure, I guess." She grinned even wider. "But I'm guessing that it'll involve dark reigning forever... a new world order... death and destruction in general..."
Albus grinned too, lightly touching his wand. This was fun, lots of fun.

(September 24, 2009 - 1:07 pm)
