Grow the lawn

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Guess...
Grow the lawn...

Grow the lawn and mow the lawn,

Always leave the TV on.

Brush your teeth and kill the germs,

Poison apples, poison worms...

Are we supposed to guess who this is? Or are we supposed to guess which book this is from? If we're supposed to guess the book, it's from The Mysterious Benedict Society.

Well, on the thread about favorite book series, Vyolette said she liked The Mysterious Benedict Society. Are you Vyolette? Even though she doesn't really strike me as this type of person.

No, I'm Alizarine. I just wanted to post the poem and start a discussion thread, as I've just finished the first book.

THE MARKET MUST ALWAYS REMAIN FREE

We were learning economics this year and I was like, OMG! The free market! It's from the Mysterious Benedict Society.

We were also learning about how Plato was a lover of truth and I was like, OMG! It's Reynard Muldoon!

And I was like, Oh, the thing is called the Whisperer. Hmm- I thought that was a artifact hoax made well known by a point-and-click detective computer game. I wonder if crystal skulls even exist? Hmm.

I love TMBS! I always thought the poem had an eerie feel to it.
