Magnus Chase by Rick Riordan
Has anyone else...
Has anyone else read Magnus Chase? What are your thoughts? Better or worse than Riordan's other books? Favorite characters? Etc...?

I have read Magnus Chase. I can't say it's my favorite. The plot is rather....intricate for my taste. And I never really got the whole "Valhalla, everyone from every time period of the world comes here after they die" thing. I do think that it is cool that he's related to Annabeth, but other than that.....I think I'll just stick to good old PJO XD (But if I did have a favorite character, it would be the soldier person [TJ, I think his name was?].)

I haven't gotten to the Magnus branch of his writing yet; still finishing the accompianing books for PJO/HOO/TOA. About to start them though, and I have to admit, they sound funny. I'll let you know my opinions soon. :D

I've read the first book, but only the first book. It was pretty good. It's been a while, actually... I do like that nothing is free, and that there are consequences and challenges.

Oh, I LOVE these! I haven't read the second Percy Jackson series, but I've read most of Riordan's books and these are my favorites. I'm actually in middle of re-reading the second right now!
Hmm... Favorite character, that's hard. I really like Sam, Hearthstone, and Alex. Sam is especially awesome.

I haven't read Magnus Chase but I am not allowed to read it, nor the second Percy Jackson series. The first PJ books were good and I really liked them, but I am NOT pleased that Rick Riordan kinda copied Harry Potter with the characters. Think about it! Percy has black hair and green eyes. Annabeth is totally a Hermione. And Travis and Connor Stoll are just like Fred and George, basically! And Grover is kind of that sidekick character like Ron. Anyway. That is all I have to say. *disapparates*

I am absolutely in love with the Magnus Chase series! It brings back Rick Riodan's witty storytelling style (including those awesome chapter titles), and it is definitely by second favorite of his sagas. One thing I love about it was all the representation of different people he includes in it (and in his other stories). There is a deaf character and a genderfluid one, and I know I haven't read many books about either. It has the same humor as much of his other books do, and it also has a guest appearance of none other than Percy Jackson, so that's definitely a bonus.
P.S. Please don't think I'm insensitive because I drew attention to the fact that there are deaf and genderfluid people, I just think that their representation is awesome.
