The Squire's Tales series
...
The Squire's Tales series is about a boy named Terence as he travels from being a helper to a hermit with a special gift to being the squire to the famous knight Sir Gawain of Arthur's round table. Gerald Morris goes through history in the medieval times and livens things up by adding characters and new adventures. There's always an author's note at the end about how he got his ideas and it's always really funny. There are 6 books in the series. I never really liked the medieval times much, but with the humor and adventure in this series, you forget you're actually learning a bit of history! Read it!

I totaly agree with you! I love the whole series , even though I like books about the middle ages in general.....anyway,have you read a Diana Wynne Jones book called The Merlin Conspiracy? It is set in about the same time, and I think you would really like it.

The Squires Tales are SO good. I love them. They are so funny. My favorite is The Savage Damsel and the Dwarf. I've read all of them.
