The Lunar Chronicles--Cinder and Scarlet
I recently picked...

I recently picked up Cinder, which is obviously the first book of the Lunar Chronicles, after my mother got it from a thrift store for herself to read. I picked it up and read it in a day. It was amazing and beautiful. My main concerns after reading this book are--

WARNING: SPOILERS TO THE FIRST AND SECOND LUNAR CHRONICLES BOOKS! (Cinder and Scarlet)

This section features FIRST BOOK spoilers only.

Like I said, my concerns--

1. Cinder seems to be so OP. I mean, she's a Lunar, Princess Selene (you'll hear more of that later), has amazing Lunar powers, aaaaand is a Cyborg with a crazy multitool hand--did I mention a gifted mechanic? Yeah. That too--but I love her character's personality!

2. Princess Selene. From the instant I heard about the fire, I predicted it--I bet Cinder is the missing Princess Selene. Fun fact: That would be a moon goddess in Greek mythology, the goddess of the moon. Selene!

And Scarlet concerns--

SPOILERS TO BOOK TWO (Scarlet)

1.  It gets so much darker xD Not sure if that's good or bad

2.  MY EMOTIONS ARE IN SO MUCH TURMOIL I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO THINK.

Thanks xD

I just finished this series yesterday and my verdct is...

9/10! THEY ARE SOOO GOOD!

My favorite is the last book: Winter. I don't know why, but it is. Either that one or the first one. Still deciding.

As for your two problems, the first one gets solved pretty quick. You'll see that Cinder isn't quite as powerful as she thinks. It doesn't go all Michael Vey OP on you, which is good. Also pretty much all of the characters in the Lunar Chronicles (at least the main ones) are really well designed, and their chemistry is great. Except for Jacin, who you haven't met yet. He was the only character I didn't like. I don't know why. He felt like sort of a fill-in charatce, just there for the sake of filling in a role, not really being a character.

Anyway, that's my two cents. I highly reccomend reading the rest of the series, and I hope you enjoy them.

I love Lunar Chron!!! The characters are so great, but I think it was really obvious SPOILER that Cinder was Selene. I can't wait for you to read the next two books! They're really good.

I read the series a few months ago. I hadn't devoured a book like that in a long time. They were incredible. I liked Cinder and Scarlet best, although Cress and Winter were good, too. I wish I got sucked into books that way more often, it's fun.

OPINIONS ON LUNAR CHRONICLES

1. Cinder.

The first chapters aren't very well written, but after *SPOILER ALERT*

Peony died, I started thinking, "all right, this book means business," and it just got better from there.

Rank in the series: #2. I loved Cinder because it focused more on the little things. I enjoyed Cinder's character immensly. The only reason why it isn't #1 is because it's a little cliche.

2. Scarlet.

The first few chapters dragged me in, but everything just got muddled together in a lot of emotional mess after that.

Rank in the series: #4. I love Scarlet and Wolf very much. It was just a little too romantic and emotional in a not-very-clear kind of way. I kept thinking, "haven't I read this before?" With many new chapters.

3. CRESS!

I LOVED EVERY INCH! Cress is awesome, and I ship her and Thorne so much; even though I hated Thorne at first and still occasionally hate him a little.

Rank in the series: #1 because I love it sooo much! Cress is adorable!

I cannot rightly judge Winter since I'm still in the middle of it, but right now I wish that it was focused more on Jacin and Winter, who I TOTALLY ship. I love Winter. She's so interesting.

I agree, Winter is really interesting. She's kind of like a cross between Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. I wish we could have seen her mentally recover.

Hey everyone!

I JUST GOT CRESS AND READ IT.

(I read so many of the books I get in a day, believe it or not xD)

Cress--reasons to like, reasons to hate, SPOILERS INBOUND--

1. I identify with Cress so much, because as a homeschooler, I haven't really left the house that much, and--

SORRY. I GOTTA GO.

I've only read Cinder, but I'm working on getting the rest of the series. Here are my opinions:

1. I didn't find Cinder too OP. I mean, she doesn't really have Lunar powers. She's just cyborg.

2. Like Icy, I predicted that Cinder was Princess Selene.

3. I didn't understand why she went home instead of staying with the doctor.

4. Why did he not tell the prince that she was cyborg?

SPOILER ALERT

5. Where did Peony catch the plague? Was it at the junkyard?

Heya guys, I'm back! *shy wave before exploding* I MISSED YOU GUYSSSSSSS! ♡♡♡

Don't have a lot of time right now, but omg the Lunar Cron is so GOOD! I've read Cinder and Scarlet, and I'm a little less than halfway through Cress.

SPOILER: I just KNEW Cinder was Selene. I forget hoe, but I just knew. Even though the clues didn't match up. Well done, Melissa Meyer. XD

I'll give more in depth reviews later. Bye guys!♡

I'm not mocking the ship names, but if you want the ones mostly used in the fandom they're below. (I like kinder, it's cute.)

Cresswell (Cress/thorne)

Kaider (cinder/Kai)

Wolflet (Scarlet/wolf) (I made Scarf up as a ship name too)

I don't know Jacn/Winter one, sorry!

AAAAAAaaaaahhhHhhh! I love these books!! I love how flawed and real and GOOD all of the characters are. Does anyone know if Fairest is any good? Likes/dislikes [HUGE SPOILER WARNING IF YOU EVER WANT TO READ THESE BOOKS]

Cinder:

The book was really good, but I pretty much knew that Cinder was Selene. Also, the ending was kinda iffy. Like, all of the sudden, she gets through to Cress who has the right answer at the right time and convinces her to go save the day. But the reveal with Doctor Erland and Cress and Lunarness, etc. ALL THE REVEALS AND DRAMATIC SCENES WITH HIM WERE SO COOL!!

Scarlet:

I actually really liked this one. I liked how Marissa Meyer kept you guessing who the bad guy is--

ahhh dangit i have to go tell u more later bye .
