Chatterbox: Blab About Books
THis book was inspired by Scylla's book (link to that here: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/blababoutbooks/node/200123 Go check it out!), and can't possibly be as good. But, one can hope. It's about a clan of wolves that have special powers depending on their elements. Anyways here goes!

Chapter One: Ancora
I pad along behind my father as he inspects our pack. He stalks over to a dark red Ustrinian omega amd growls. The omega averts his eyes and presses his cheek to the ground.
"Lower." Umbra growls and plants his paws on the omega's flank, pressing him to the ground. "Ancora," He barks, summoning me to his side. "Take his eye."
"But Fa-" I start to protest.
"His eye." Umbra snarls, directing the full force of his glare at me.
"Yes Father." I walk over to the omega and place one paw on his neck, holding him in place. With the other paw I swipe quickly across his eye, my sharp claws blinding it easily.
"Good girl," Umbra croons, baring his teeth at me as I wash my paw of blood in a nearby puddle. I shake out my dark violet and black pelt and turn my back on the whimpering omega. My father is the alpha of the clan and likes to prove his dominance in rather.... violent ways. Sadly he wants me to grow up to be just like him and has been forcing me to be brutal since barely after my brother and I had our eyes open. He says he could tell I was more dominant and made me prove my worth by disfiguring my brother's face. I can still hear his screams from that first fight...
It was a hot summer day and my brother Pluto and I were outside wresling. For some reason our father thought it would be a good idea for the two three moon old pups to fight. He led us to a small ravine with steep sides and led us down it.
"You can come out when one of you wins." He said, and walked away. He left only his beta wolf, Shadow, to watch us. For a while we just sat there waiting, not knowing what to do.
Then Pluto jumped on me.
It was over so fast I didn't even know what was happening. One moment we were just sitting next to each other, the next he was on top of me, his fangs gripping my throat. On some instinct I lashed out at him, my claws slicing one eye while my magic dealt with the other. He screeched and rolled away from me, clutching his face and calling for help. But Shadow just sat there watching with something like amusement on his face. What kind of sick wolf was happy when a cub was screaming like that? I jumped to my paws and bounded over to where my brother lay, blood gushing from his face.
Kill him. A voice in my head whispered. Kill him now.
And I would have done it too. I don't know what came over me. But I didn't have a chance because at that moment our mother arrived and rushed to where I was towering over Pluto, prepared to kill him.

Ok this is going to be weird but I forgot something at the beginning of thet part so I'm going to post it here.

Our mother yipped and threw herself at me, pinning me to the ground. As I lay there I began to cry, huge sobs racking my body.
“I-I d-didn’t mean t-to! I s-swear! I don’t kn-know what h-happened.” I stuttered between sobs. Mother bent over and began to lick my face, calming me.

Sorry about that. *shrugs*

“It’s okay sweetheart, it wasn’t your fault.” She pulled away and paced over to where Pluto still lay. She helped him to his feet and together we made our way back to camp.
My brother was permanently blinded from that fight, stripped of all honor. Luckily he was able to master enough magic to possess some semblance of sight. He forgave me for blinding him too, and we became best friends. I helped him when he needed it and in return he was there for me when Father’s training was too much. We were a team. But that soon changed.
“Hey, Cora!” A cheerful voice lots me out of my thoughts as a metallic golden she-wolf trots up beside me.
“Hi Stella,” I mumble with my head down.
“Awwwwww, you’re being mopey. I love it when you’re mopey.” When I don’t laugh at her joke she looks concerned. “What’s wrong Cora? Ancora?”
“I hate it when people call me that!” I spit, rounding on her.
“Geez, you don’t have to overreact so much. I have news. Big news.”
“What?” I’m bored already.
“I found a mate!” Stella says proudly, puffing out her golden fur, a sign of her Solis blood.
“Really?” I am intrigued by this bit of information. “Who?”
“Not so bored now are we? His name is Nox. He’s a Lunae.”
“Nox…. Isn’t that Shadow’s son?”
“Yes he is. If his father becomes alpha, he says he’ll get to be beta. Isn’t that exciting! I might be mates with a beta wolf!” She yips, dancing around me in excitement.
“I’m happy for you Stel. Truly, but you know as well as I do that as soon as I’m old enough, I’ll become my father’s beta.” Her face falls and I feel a bit guilty for having crushed this happiness of hers. I press myself against her and gently guide her to my private den. I duck inside after her and conjure a small orb of fire to light the dark cave.

I know it wasn't as action-y but I hope it was still good.

Here's some more for you.

“Sorry,” I mutter and hurriedly extinguish the flame. Stella swishes her tail and a sphere of light appears between her forepaws.
“It’s ok.” She says and settles down on my bed.
“Hey!” I bark, “Get off my bed!” I move to shove her off but she will not move. She simply bats the light between her paws a few times then tosses it in the air, catching it in her jaws. She throws it again, this time sending it sailing towards me. I leap into the air and and catch it with my mouth. Stella has some of the most powerful magic I’ve seen in anyone other than an Umbra. She is capable of not only sustaining her creations, but also manipulating and interacting with them. As I land I trip and twist my ankle. I motion Stella away and focus on the pain where my forepaw is twisted at an unnatural angle. I push my magic and heal it, flinching from the pain. Stella presses against me and helps me to my bed.
Using magic on others and objects does not take much of a toll. But using it on oneself is quite draining. Only the very strongest can manage it. Even I am exhausted by healing something so small. Magic is like a muscle, if you use it, it will grow stronger and so will you. If you don’t then it will become weak and so will you. But using it on yourself is another matter entirely. It requires a much larger amount of energy, no one really knows why. I collapse on my bed and Stella settles down next to me.
“You know I could’ve done that, right?” She says, dimming the light. I let out an incoherent grumble and tumble into sleep.
