Reading the OED
This was written...
This was written by a guy, Ammon Shea, who apparently enjoys reading dictionaries. I'm guessing that he pitched the idea of reading the OED to his publishers and they were all, "Okay, Ammon, go for it"- *winkwink* -"that should sell pretty well."
But yes, he read the entire OED in a year (seriously, who has that kind of time?) and then wrote a book about it. It chronicles his year of reading it and includes dozens of words that he learned, things like agathokakological (an adjective meaning "comprised of both good and evil"). It's a fascinating read. I'm enjoying it greatly and would suggest it.
Also, there are now eleven to twelve Warriors threads. *groan*

Oh! I read an excerpt or that book in Muse. They had some really cool words, such as happify*. Also, he forgot what a glove was! Another word I like is artolater. Worshipper of bread.
*happify: to make someone happy

Yes, artolater was funny. Accismus* was good too; I always wondered if there was a word for that.
*Accismus: An insincere refusal of something that is desired (i.e., me telling you that you can have the last brownie, even though I want it).
