AUGHHHHHH!!! I have...

Can anyone awnser this? It has been slowly torturing me to death!!!

Didn't they have a PHONE with them? Hint, hint...

Nope. They would not have had a phone. At the time this took place, I'm pretty sure cell phones weren't a thing, and even then , no WiFi.

I suppose the fellow they rented the hut from came back and got them in his own boat.

But...didnt the boat that Harry and Hagrid took belong to the guy?

Maybe they swam until some guy noticed a familly floating in the water! This is a difficult one!

MAgic. Duh.

True, but they left it at the dock on the mainland. The owner of the shack was on the mainland and could take the boat back to his hut, right?

I thought Hagrid just brought his own boat, because he couldn't have apparated?

That's another problem... Hagrid said that he "flew" but we know that:

1. He can't apparate (his wand is broken)

2. He can't fly a broomstick.

3. Cant' ride a thestral.

4. Could not have ridden the motorbike because he would have had to leave it there on the island.

Maybe Hagrid was studying dark magic, and he learned how to do that floating/flying thing. Maybe.

Dumbledore or McGonagall probably saw they were having some trouble and relucantly used magic, (which they knew they would hate) to bring them to shore.

My guess is that either they were rescued by some wizards who remembered they were stranded there, or they tore the house apart and turned it into a makeshift raft of their own.

Oh my goodness! I never noticed that! Did they swim? Did a helicopter or something get them? Did anyone even know where they were...?

Well-spotted.

McGongall probably had them stay there for a bit after how badly they treated Harry and then pretended to remember they were there when someone asked "Whatever happen to those awful muggles the potter boy was living with?" And then she probably brought them back with something magical, which she'd know they'd hate. I love McGonagall.

I'd guess that Hagrid's "flying" is apparating; his wand still works a bit. Or Dumbledore could've side-alonged Hagrid and left so he wouldn't intimidate Harry.

The Dursleys could have gotten off any number of ways. Maybe they built a fire and signaled shore, maybe the old man got help after a day or two, maybe they swam.I don't think it matters so much.

I think it's more important that Dumbledor picked up Riddle for Hogwarts when he was a kid and not Harry. Harry was very important in the wizardind world. Also, Dumbledore knew Harry's parents well. They were all in the Order of the Phoenix, and James trusted Dumbledore enough to lend him the cloak. They must have been close. So why?
