LOTR RP!!!! (or
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
LOTR RP!!!! (or the Hobbit)
In case there are some non-Tolkien people out there, LOTR means Lord of the Rings.
Now that we've gotten that across, I'll describe the RP! It's pretty self explanetory, but there are minor changes.
So for now, I think it might be best if we created a subplot, something that took place possibly before the Rings were forged, just to avoid any confusion. The subplot can change, but here it is:
There is an enemy by the name of Malum, and his army captures those of Middle Earth and all other places to become spies or part of his army. He is setting out to destroy all nations of men, elves, dwarves, and others, and he has to be stopped. In order to be stopped, Rivendell has put together their own version of a miny army consisting of...you guessed it...your charries!
You can be any race from Middle Earth that you want, and you can choose which side you want to be on. Hopefully we have a balance. But if there are a few more good charries than bad, that's totally fine.

My charrie sheet:
Name: Étoile Lyaceolin
Age: No one really knows, but she is young.
Gender: F
Race: She's Half Elvish and Half Man (Mankind).
Side: Good
Appearance: Curly blonde hair that goes past her shoulders, with light brown and platinum blonde streaks in it. She has big hazel eyes with a tint of blue that look curious and inquisitive. She has pale skin and freckles on her face, and she is graceful, quick, and looks fragile even though she really isn't. She wears an Elven uniform fit for fighting and adventure, but since she isn't as tall and big as the Elves because she is only Half-Elvish, hers was made with difficulty and a bit differently.
Personality: She's very curious, adventurous, brave, and loyal. Though sometimes she is quieter when meeting new people, she tries to be kind for the most part. She is smart and has keen senses, and she is observant and will not be afraid to give help or ask for it.
Talent: Her bow and arrow. Although the Elves are the masters at it, she is better than some of them. She is also talented at horse riding.
Favourite weapon: Her bow and arrow. She is good at throwing knives and swords, and all weapons at that, but her favourite is her bow and arrow.
Background: Her mother was a Silvan Elf who was married to her mortal father. Her mother was part of one of the founding families in Lothlórien, but she soon departed to the Grey Havens after being severely injured. Her father died in a major battle against a tyrant. Her father was the king of a kingdom that was split off from Edain. She is technically the heir, as her older brothers and one older sister were all killed by the tyrant, who also happens to be an ally to Malum. She was taken into Lothlórien by the Silvan Elves, and she has lived there ever since.
Other: She loves her horse, Cenliólen. He's a pure white horse with a long, brushed white mane and tail. She can speak to him in Elvish, and Étoile herself speaks fluent Elvish.
Please join, LOTR fan or not! We will start when we have at least 5-10 charries, and people can join throughout the course of the RP. (preferably at the beginning when all of the charries are introduced. XD)
Thank you everyone! This RP will be awesome!

Here's my Charrie!
Name: Martin mossbark (His nick name is Musty) (it's a long story)
Age: 57
Gender:M
Race:Hobbit
Side:good
Appearance: Short curly brown hair, tall for a Hobbit, wears a white buttoned up shirt with a beige vest over it and a green coat. He has brown pants.
Personality:Has a good sense of humor, likes to read but is adventurous and loves a walk in the woods. He can be sarcastic if he is very calm.
Talent:He is good with animals (expetaly his wolf/dog) and loves to go on boats and feel the fresh air of a river.
Favouite weapon:Usally doesn't need a weapon but he does have a sword from his great, great, great uncle.
Backround:He was raised in the woods(which is unusual for Hobbits and most Hobbit folk don't trust Hobbits who do the unusual) and loved it there. When he was 19 his mother and father went on a trip (no one knows where) and never came back.So Martin was left alone and moved later to the shire. He established a good reputation for himself and was respected.
Other: He found a wolf pup, adopted it and they became fast friends. He named it Spoke.

Tuxedo-- is your hobbit a relative of the Brandybucks? Harfoot hobbits never boat as a rule, except for that particular strain.
I'd like to say that Elves age very, very differently than Men do-- it takes them much longer to mature. Elven princesses probably wouldn't be shooting bows and arrows-- especially if they aren't mature. 18 is very young for the Elves. Also, Elves don't have freckles-- they just aren't human, they're built differently. They think differently-- they act differently-- they feel differently--they're a completely other way of being.
Ugghh! I'm sorry. I realize that you guys are just trying to have fun here, and I just need to leave you alone. I really don't mean to be a spoil-sport-- it's just that I love Arda and its peoples very, very much, and I don't like to see them treated like, to my mind, video-game figures. I'm probably acting like some crazy, snooty perfectionist. I'm sorry!

No Esthelle, you're not being a snob! It's OK that your giving imput and I'm grateful for it! Yeah I totally forgot that about Harfoots. But I guess he just is like, hardly a hobbit. I mean he is one, just wasn't raised as a full fleged Hobbit would be raised. Thanks!
Shadow says yakf. A field of yak?

Oh wow, I'm so glad you mentioned this! I feel so bad now. I really know nothing about elves, I'm barely four chapters into The Fellowship of the Ring! I'll change my charrie, because I DO want her to be realistic. Don't feel bad for pointing out my various errors! Like I said, I know virtually nothing, and on that note, maybe I shouldn't have made an elven Charrie. I just think elves are so cool, and would in no way want to change who they're supposed to be! Sorry if I upset you! :-(

@Esthelle
No, you're fine.
Actually, what I mean by 18 is 18 in human years. However, in Elven years, you would be around 96.
Etoile has freckles because she's half human, and she does stuff like using her bow and arrow because she is half human too.

Thank you. :)
Killim: I think it's very interesting, that you're presenting a half-Sindar! Your character represents a group that isn't often mentioned in the story. It makes sense that she would be Sindar-- the Avari intermingled with Men. Thank you for putting up with me.! ;)
Tuxedo: I appreciate that Martin Mossbark is 57-- it's nice to see some older characters. Is he distantly related to the Fallohides, which is why he was raised in the woods? But then he might not be dark-haired. There's no reason why some Harfoots might prefer the woods, and be considered queer by their fellows. It all depends. Thank you!
