Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Ok, so a little while ago my friends started obsessing over this book series called Ranger's Apprentice, by John Flanagan, and so a few months ago I started reading it. I am on book 10 now, the Emperor of Nihon-Ja, and I love it so much! The first book wasn't my favourite, but it got better from there on and I was completely obsessed by book four.
Basically, it is about this boy named Will who gets chosen to train as a Ranger under this awesome guy named Halt. The Ranger's are kind of like the King's intelligence force - they go on missions, they save the kingdom all the time, and are just generally awesome. They carry huge longbows, a sax knife, and a throwing knife and they are so cool!
Has anyone else read them? I am completely obsessed with Gilan, he is so amazing.

HOLY EVERYTHING YES!!!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK SERIES!! I own the entire series, and have also read Brotherband (it's not as good) and the prequel series, about Halt and Crowley. I forgot what it's called, though it's just as good and starts with a book called "The Tournament at Gorlan". It's about how Halt and Crowley reformed the Ranger Corps. They make an allusion to this in Book 11, but don't worry, it's not a spoiler. But really, John Flanagan is super amazing, and I'm surprised more people don't know about him! I am a really strict book critic, and I also have this super freaky mind that figures out the plot twists on like page 5 so I'm constantly bored, but this series really was AMAZING! If you liked it, I also reccomend the Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland (the prologue in the forst book is a bit gory, but don't let it set you off! The rest of the series is way better!) And if you like a bit of a scare, I can reccomend the Last Apprentice series. It is delightfully scary and creepy, and though I've never made it through all 12 books (I'm a real scaredy-cat), they seem like good books. And so yeah. I read a LOT. Like ALL THE TIME. Like, other parents have to tell their kids to put down the phone and read a book or something, my parents have to tell me to put the book down and go be a normal teenager! Play in your phine or something! (technically I'm not a teenager for another 6 months or so, but still). So sorry for all the rambling but I am a very long-winded- big-word-usery person. I blame the books. :)
Keep on reading,
