Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The Tiger Rising
Has anyone read...

Has anyone read The Tiger Rising?  If you have, do you think the ending is sad?  I do.  If you have not read it, I would recommend it as a book that you should read.

Can't say I have, but it's nice to see a new book. What's it about?

Well, it's about this boy and this girl, the boy's mom died and he's living in a hotel (?) with his dad. The girl is a new girl at his school and her parents are divorced (?) and she's living with her mom (?) and her mom makes her wear dresses but she's a tomboy at heart. So one day, the boy is in the woods behind the hotel and he finds  a cage with a tiger inside. The next day, he finds out that it is the property of the hotel owner, and the hotel owner hires him to feed it every day, and gives him the keys. He wants to tell somebody about it, and the only person who he thinks will pay attention is the new girl. In the end, they try to set it free, but (I think. I haven't read it in a while.) the boy's dad shoots it.

Waaaah! But it's a very good book.

But, you see, as I haven't read it in a while, you may want to ask the others for accuracy. You're welcome, though!

It's not all that simple. It's really intricate and hard to explain, but it's about how bad it is to keep feelings shut up inside you without letting them out. It has some really good similes, too.
