Chatterbox: Blab About Books

My Current Book Related Situation.
Hello!Some o ...

Hello!

Some of you may have heard about something called Battle of the Books, right? Well if you haven't, here's a bit about it; It's a yearly competition where teams of up to 6 people read 15 books and get asked 2 questions on each book (the team works together to answer them.) whoever gets the most correct wins.

Well you see, I've got a team and we've won 2 years in a row which is an insanely huge deal. Most people don't even place 1 year in a row, so it's truly amazing we got to do that... but it's happening again this year (it takes place over 5 days) and we're not doing very well. Past years we've always missed 1 question and taken 1st, but we've missed 2 questions so far and it's only the 3rd day! Trust me, we know our books very well and I doubt we'll miss anymore, but I also doubt we'll win because one team hasn't missed any!

So after wiping our tears and calming down, we decided to make a book club type thing. Except, we do different things than a regular club... like one week we'll go to a bookstore, the next week we'll take turns reading a book out loud, the next week we'll go book scavenging, the next week we'll watch a movie for a book... et cetera.

A small problem with that. The only time we're all free is right after school around 3:00 (we haven't decided the day of the week yet)... and let me just make a little chart. (These are all fake names)

Ella and Morgan (twins) - mom is free

Amber - my mom and her mom don't... well.. it's quite complicated but our parents aren't exactly friends.

Me - both parents at work

Kaitlyn - both parents at work

Abigail - mom is free.

thats it. And we can't have Abigail and Ella and Morgan's (oh those names are fake so it's sounds so weird to me in my head) driving us everywhere each week, right? I don't know. What do you think? Also, ok a happier note, what other things could we do and what could we name the club?

If the moms you mention are free and willing, I'd let those who can drive each week. Maybe the club can do something special for them as a thank-you. I think all the parents would like to encourage books and reading.
