Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Ray Bradbury
My big book...

My big book of Bradbury stories calls his stories and novels "part of the American language."

He's written several novels and numerable short stories (my bbBs contains 100 of them); Fahrenheit 451 is a relatively well known work of his.

Anyone a fan? Comments? Something?

Never read any of his work, but I've heard people talking about Fahrenheit 451.

Okay, I admit it, I had no reason to post on this thread, but anything non-Warriors is good.

Ooh, read Fahrenheit 451, it's really good, and he spells favourite correctly. :)

Bradbury does have a tendency to use incredible "jawbreaking" (to use his word) run-on sentences, though, so be warned.

And a month later...

I read Fahrenheit 451! It was amazing! He pulled the ending off *perfectly*! Everything was so well-portrayed! And it only took him nine days to write the entire first draft! Even the forward of the book was great!

(I need to cut down on the exclamation marks...)

But seriously, it was a very good book. I flipped through it, saw the small type, and was sort of, Oh, great, another The Hobbit. But it was not at all a difficult read, and fascinating. Everything tied in so well.

So now I'm going to read two of Ray Bradbury's short stories (The Playground and And the Rock Cried Out).
