OHMIGANDALF, THIS BOOK
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
OHMIGANDALF, THIS BOOK WAS AMAAAAAAAAZING!!!!!!!
It's a humorous 20th century romance, about a daughter of an English Earl, Patricia Maud Marsh. Her aunt is attempting to marry her off to her step-son, Reginald (Reggie) Byng.
Maud is in love with an American she met while in Wales, much to her aunt's dissaproval. Her father, Lord Marshmoreton, doesn't really care much about who she marries, as long as he likes the fellow and can be left in peace with his roses.
Reggie doesn't really love Maud though. As a dear friend, oh, yes! As a wife ... he'd rather marry his uncle's secretary, Alice Faraway. ;)
Now I'd best stop talking and allow you to read it. It's availible for free on kindles. Oh, and by "humorous" I mean such passages as this: "The proprieter of the grocery store on the corner was bidding a silent farewell to a tomato which even he, though a dauntless optimist, had been compelled to recognize as having outlived it's utility."
Just small tidbits like this, which appear much richer whilest among it's full context. Daisy and Booksy, you two were the first people I thought of when I was finished. But really, I think many of you would like it, whether romancists or not!
