I Don't Like Harry Potter: Please Don't Hate Me
PLZ DON'T HAT...

PLZ DON'T HATE ME!!!

I'll explain why I don't like Harry Potter, so PLEASE wait to judge.

I read Harry Potter over a few years, starting in Kindergarten. My parents stopped me for a few months because I was too young. XD. I finished the series for the first time in Third Grade. Then, I decided to read it 5 more times IN A ROW. Literally, I would finish the last book and pick up the first book five minutes later. So, I got sick of it and now I don't like it any more. I MIGHT read it again.

I know that everyone on here loves Harry Potter, so I really hope that this doesn't make me a less popular CBer. I feel like this will lower my image as a CBer, but I wanted to tell everyone that I don't like Harrt Potter. Yeah, I feel really stupid for sharing that.

If you want to, beg me to read Harry Potter again. I think I will. :/ ? :)

Seems like you might have made yourself sick of it through over re-reading? :) In any case, I think it's perfectly fine that now you don't like Harry Potter and that other people do. People just have different tastes. There are plenty of books out there to choose from. Just find the ones that excite you. I highly doubt that anyone here will hold it against you.

Seriously, don't worry about your image here. :P Don't change yourself just to be popular.  I don't like Harry Potter much myself, but I haven't read all of it - I'm not sure why it didn't appeal.

Why not revisit it if you want to?  You can always put it down again if you aren't enjoying it, can't you? :)

(FTR, I'd assumed you were 13 or 14.)

My family did it on audiobook when I was.. Umm, young so I forget most it except

everyone died in the end.  I mean really they just killed all his friends!!! >:(

But worst of all, *tears streaming down face* they...they killed the owl.   *Bursts into tears*

Jack-a-Nat, we so don't hate you! I don't like Harry Potter either, for unknown reasons. I haven't even read it! I have a best friend who loves, but my dad just read it and didn't like it much. He said it wasn't well written, and he didn't even like the plot. You SO aren't the only CBer who doesn't like Harry Potter. A piece of advice: read books you like, things that interest you. Don't read books just because everyone else does, or says you should. Decide what you like and what you don't; dont go by other people. Everyone's different, and everyone has different books that THEY love. Harry Potter just seems to be a book that lots of people love! I have a friend who read The Wingfeather Saga for a while, then decided it was too dark for her. She now has a new favorite book series, and we still remain fruends just as we were. It's actually kind if fun ranting 'bout our different boom fandoms. We even named two puppies after dogs in our books! Sometimes, it's fun to be one of the few people who don't care for Harry Potter. You can 'Defy' everyone else. But anyway, if you think you might want to try reading Harry Potter again sometime, go ahaed! Maybe wait until you don't know it as good though, first. That way you don't know EXACTLY what's gonna happen on every page.

Don't worry, you're not alone, Jack-a-nat.

I'm no Harry Potter fangirl, (I don't hate it, either, BUT--)

There used to be a whole entire thread...called Harry Potter Rant: Haters.

I don't like Harry Potter either. I started reading it because my friends like it and they're long (yay long books) but I just didn't like it.

Of course we don't hate you, Jack-a-nat! Why would we? Everybody has different tastes and oppinions! At least you read it (and re-read it, and re-read it, and re-read it...). No wonder you got tired of it! I won't 'beg' you to read it again, as that was what made you not like it, but if you feel like it might change your oppinion, then do.

I don't realy blame you. With all the Cursed Child stuff out right now, It's enough to give someone a headache. Don't get me wrong, I love HP, but I think I will let it get dusty on my bookshelf for some time yet.
