I am reading, Wolves of the Beyond: Lone Wolf so far, I really like it! I got it from the library. It's the second book in the series, called wolves of the beyond. The author is Kathryn Lasky. I highly recommend it for wolf/animal lovers and anyone who has read and liked the authors other series, Guardians of Ga' Hoole.

I am reading Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo. It's really good, and I definitely recommend it.
Summary: Raymie Clarke's father has run away with a dental hygenist, and she wants to win the Little Miss Florida Tire Contest so her father will see her in the paper and come home.

Emily of New Moon for the second time. One of those great, clean books that builds childhoods (and young adulthoods!)
Rosy petal says Duke! Either she wants me to go to Duke University, or she's congratulating my on the Duke TIP thing, or she's telling me that my medal fell onto the floor.

ooohhh! The Wingfeather Saga! It's amazing! Or Wolves of the beyond. And now I'm reading Pax by Sara (or Sarah, can't remember how she spells it) Pennypacker. It's pretty good, but kinda sad, too.

I just finished "The Once and Future King" by T.H. White.
And it was just what a book should be.
It was deep and light-hearted and tragic and hilarious and every single other thing that has ever been completely opposite to another, yet still managing to co-exist in what we call the human nature.
It is a retelling of the story of King Arthur, and it is considered to be the world's greatest fantasy classic, although I would not, personally, call it a fantasy. But still! To quote the back cover--
The whole world knows and loves this book. It is the magical epic of King Arthur and his shining Camelot; of Merlyn and Owl and Guinevere; of beasts who talk and men who fly, of wizardry and war. It is the book of all things lost and wonderful and sad. It is the fantasy masterpiece by which all others are judged.
And it is just that!
I would not recommend it for anyone under 14, however, and be sure to get parental permission. It is not at all inappropriate, but mature, if you know what I mean. For adults, it is not at all immoral, but it contains unsuitable content. In other words, it is much more appropriate than many teen-age novels, but still unfit for children.
If you are of age and have parental permission-- you must read this! You must! It was one of the best books I have ever read, ranking with even the Lord of the Rings.
A gay, warm, sad, glinting, rich, mystical, true and beautiful tapestry of human history and human spirit. Read it and laugh. Read it and learn. Read it and be glad you are human.

Hey, I took your advice and am currently halfway through The Once and Future King! I love it! It's just as you described! I just love fantasy stories like that, with good vs. evil or "Might vs. Right." I love how it's so long and detailed - you can just tell that T. H. White spent faithfully detailed years on it. I'm actually on the verge of buying it from the bookstore, partly because it's due soon at the library, and partly because I only buy books that I really love and want to read again.
Thank you so much for the suggestion!!!
