Jane Austen
Hello Austenites! I...

Hello Austenites! I think it's high time we have a thread to talk about Jane Austen. I've only read Emma, Pride and Predjudice, Sense and Sensibility, and about half of Mansfield Park. P&P is probably my favorite, but Emma is a close second.

I love the ABC mini series with Collin Firth as Darcy. Some of my favorite charries are Lizzie, Mrs Elton, Darcy, Knightly, Mr Weston, Mr Bennet, Darcy, Knightly, and many more. Who is better, Darcy or Knightly?

I think it's kind of amazing that I love these books so much, since they're from a time period so different from our own. All the main characters are so relatable. It's is pretty impressive that you can identify with Emma, who in any other novel you would probably loath. I just noticed something. When you hit preview when you're writing a post, it says that it is December 31, 1969. Weird. Whistler says vdem. Read'em? Of course I've read them, I'm writing a post about them!

Oh my goodness, yes yes yes yes YES! Janeites unite! Yayayayayayyayayayayyayayayayayayayay! I've read Pride and Predjudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, and Persuasion. My favorite would have to be P&P, of course, but I think S&S comes second. Elinor forever! Go sense! Marianne is kind of annoying, don't you think?

I totally agree with what you said about Emma. I kind of hated her at first, but then grew to like her. All comes with Jane Austen's AMAZING writing!

I, too, love the mini series (though I believe it's from BBC, not ABC). It is really well done.

Darcy's better, though Knightly comes close. And don't you hate Wickham and Willoughby? Jane Austen has a thing with the letter W.

So nice t talk to fellow Janeites on here!

Marianne is pretty annoying. Mrs Dashwood also kind of annoys me, since she is just a slightly less extreme version of Mrs Bennet. The mini series is A&E and BBC. I got it mixed up. What Austen book are you hoping to read next?
