Starfire awoke with a start. She had been dreaming. It was the middle of the night. She knew something important was happening. She knew it. But what could it be? The meeting! She remembered now! The clans! Starfire stood up in the small but comfortable den that she called home. She walked outside and gazed up at the great blue yonder. She remembered a lullaby that her mother used to sing to her. It was one of the few things she remembered about her mother. It went, 

If you fly up into the great blue yonder, you would reach the distant peaks,

But if you fly up into the great blue yonder, be sure to come back and tell me. 

Oh, if you fly up into the great blue yonder, you might find a great blue sea,

And if you find a ship in the great blue yonder, be sure to sail back home to me. 

Dear, if you fly up into the great blue yonder, you shall find the blue valley,

And in those long years far, far from now, that is where you, darling, shall find me. 

Starfire was always confused by this last line, but all the same, the song was beautiful. She slipped the Eyyar over her head. It glimmered in the sunlight of the early morning. Fastwind had taught her everything about the Eyyars, he even said that they used to posses some magic. Starfire wondered what magic the Eyyar of Starlight used to have. And why had the magic in the Eyyars faded? Starfire knew she didn't have time to think about it. She had a clan to lead. She walked through the dense brush of the forest, gathering the members of the clan as she went. They each followed Starfire in silence, mothers urging their young forward. The clan paraded through the forest, jumping over logs and ducking under brush. Finally they reached the meeting place. It was near a pool of crystal clear water in a clearing in the middle of the forest. The other clans approached one by one and sat near the pool. All of the clans were there,The Starfire Clan, the Stardust clan, the Starash clan, the Starbeam clan, and, of course, the Starlight Clan. A badger by the name of Windclaw stepped up. "As you know, I am the leader of the Starash clan. We recently lost our territory to the Clan of Blood. And what buisness do you have with us, Starfire, leader of the Starlight Clan?" "Windclaw, leader of the Starash clan, I have called everyone here today on account of the very clan you speak of. The Clan of Blood. There are rumors going around that the Rebel Clan will attack us soon. They are trying to gain the land on the west side of the Blue River, where we reside. I called you here to warn you. Of course, we can't let that happen. We can't let the Rebel Clan take our land and our freedom." Starfire answered. "And what does this Rebel Clan plan to do after they gain the land?" A turtle with a particularly rich and earthy voice said. "We don't know."
