Chatterbox: Blab About Books
*shudders at invevitable invasion of dystopian romances*
So this is where you disscuss YA books. Please don't quote anything innapropiate, and I would try to tell CBers if the books are innapropriate when you recommend them. With some of these books, you should ask your parents before you read them.
So has anyone read these?:
WARNING: If you are a younger CBer, these are probably not books you should read.
The Lunar Chronicles (dystopian, mildly innapropriate- some kissing)
Dorothy Must Die (modern-day fanatasy, a bit above mildly innapropiate- some kissing and a lot of swearing)
The Fault in Our Stars (realistic romance, innapropriate- a lot of romance and much swearing)
Eleanor and Park (realistic romance, see rating for The Fault in Our Stars and add more romance)
Fangirl (realistic ficton, The Fault in Our Stars rating with less swearing)
Has anyone read Carry On? I put it on hold and I'm so excited!!!!! Oh, now I'm fangirling over fangirl!!!

Has anyone read The Mortal Instruments? It's really good, but might be better for older CBers.

Is there a lot of bad stuff in The Mortal Instruments? I've been wanting to read it, but I have to finish the Kane Chronicles first.

The Lunar Chronicles is the best series of all time... in my opinion! I am reading it for the third time right now.

I just finished the Lunar Chronicles. It's really good and it really sucks you in, but it's also... kind of... odd.

I love it.

I've only read one of the Lunar Chronicles books, so this may not count, but-- I thought it was rather stupid. I send my apologies to the hordes of fangirls on this site but-- that's my humble opinion. I read the third book, "Cress" and it was boring, sticky, and rather cheesy. It was also one of those books when you don't miss the story by skipping a few installments-- the whole plots from the first two books were pretty deeply explained, and seemed to actually take up a lot of space in the book. The title character spent most of her 'adventure' behaving like a love-sick puppy in a desert, and none of the characters were very likeable. If I were ever to see Thorne, I would probably try to break his nose. They were mostly stereotypes, and, upon finishing the book, I felt little curiosity about how the story ended. One of the apparently intended 'surprises' of the story seems to be the revelation SPOILER that the Lunars planted the disease on earth. Couldn't anyone have guessed that? I don't know. Sorry about this rant. And I am open to argument-- that is, please disagree with me if I have made a mistake, or for any reason whatsoever. I am open to having my mind changed. Tschuss! :)

Has anyone else read The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel? There's hardly any romance, I'm not really sure why it's classified as YA, but it's a pretty good series.

I may be a little too young for this thread, but still! I Really like fantasizing over the twilight series! I mean, I know it's girly and all, but it's a good book. Mostly because it's about a girl who moves to a place in forks, which is in washington if you didn't know, and it's always raining or foggy while she falls in love with vampires and werewolves! The only reason why I wouldn't like this book is because all the time she's all like “Edward! Jackob! Edward! Jackob! Edward! Jackob! Pfhhh charley”
And I just wanted to know, has anyone found a book about a totally normal person that does nothing special at all? BORING RIGHT? I just wanted to know, because those books are good to read if you want to expand your vocabulary. I live for words
