I'm just here to squeal, okay? I just started Harry Potter, and finished the first book yesterday. Until I can get my hands on the second one, I'm going to fangirl my head off on this thread.
OHMAIGOSH THIS IS SO AWESOME I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T READ IT BEFORE WHY WHY WHYYY ALSO HARRY POTTER IS AWESOME AND HERMIONE IS ALSO AWESOME AND SO ISS RON AND I KNOW NONE OF THIS MAKES ANY SENSE BUT WHO CARES AND THE PERSON WHO CHECKED OUT HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAD BETTER RETURN SOON OR ELSE I'LL COME AND PUT A SPELL ON THEM AND ALSO I CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH THE MOVIES AND GAHH

Although, don't read ANY article except for the Sorting Quiz and the Wand Thang, because, well, spoilers. Its www.pottermore.com. Sorry for posting a website on here, Admins, but it's not commercial or anything. It's just me telling a newly made Potterhead to the PotterFan website!
I'm in RavenClaw and my wand is made of elder. I'm also a Metamorphmagus, according to my friends.
Lots of people say that Ron is just derpy and well sometimes he is but he's proved on occasion that he's just as smart as Hermoine or brave as Harry.
Also, don't click on the Harry Potter Hater's thread. No matter how much you want to fight back against the haters, opinions can't be changed easily, and also they even managed to discourage me about Harry Potter, and said allot of rude things about him, Hermoine, and well every charrie. There were people there that hated HP and hadn't even read any of the books! So yeah, be on your guard. The best thing to hurt HP haters is to engage, but not engage. It's confusing, but I wrote a message on there that said something like this:
Hello, I'm Harry Potter's 11th top fan! Hear me out before you scroll past this. I have a few good points to make... Blab About Books is not about this. A good rant once in a while? Acceptable. But not an entire thread devoted to haters! I know, you do hate things, but once in a while its better to keep it to yourself. Some of the things you said were cruel, and I'm not sure that you realised that or the effect that they can have. Blab About Books is about discussing books, and debating them, but not really what your doing... Rants should be left for an ocasional comment, not a thread. Blab About Books is not about this! -Icy
And thats basically what I wrote. Be warned, there are dangerous creatures for you to fight in the wizarding world ;) but as long as you've got the PotterHeads on your side you'll be fine.

I totes mcGotes agree with you about the rant thread! I have some pet peeves in series form (thankfully HP is not among them!!!!!!!!!) but I keep things like that to myself because a) I'm selfish and I like to stew, and b) I've heard a lot of criticism on things I like and I know it's not pleasant, especially when you respect the person who's doing the criticizing!
I think there are some active HP RP's here, but it may be too late to join:( If it is, you could always start a new one!!!!!!!!!:D just an idea:)

Cayke, there's so much for you to learn! And welcome to Hogwarts! Have you received your letter or email yet? (Modern wizarding world FTW!) Anyways, yeah. Make sure you pay close attention to the 3rd book. I posted tips for reading Harry Potter on the second to last page on the Harry Potter Haters thread. Grr, haters are so mean >:(

It's a Harry Potter site where you get sorted and take classes and hand in homework and take exams and in the summer break you can go to summer camp. Once you graduate from Hogwarts there you can either take a simple job to help new students, be on the myHogwarts staff, or you can continue your studies at WizU, the wizarding university. You can also get a job in the ministry of magic. There are al sorts of places to chat and fun games to play and stuff.
