Okay, first I
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Okay, first I will say that before I began reading I tried to promise myself that I would be reading it for myself. I wouldn't say I liked it to please all the girls my age. Likewise, I wouldn't say I hated it to please all the Antis online. So I decided I would come up with MY OWN judgement of the book.
It was...boring. Just boring. Okay, I know I'm not addressing morals and ethics and even logics here. (Seriously, the message she wants to give to young girls is to follow the guy who teases you about your faults, who STALKS you, and even, by his own admission, endangers you? *rolls eyes*) I will admit a slight bias against romance stories - very few of them have been appealing to me - but the plot??? Um, has she ever heard the word? It was basically:
*Bella meets Edward* *Bella and Edward fall in love* *Edward saves Bella* *Edward tells Bella they can't be friends* *Edward and Bella give up on resisting each other* *Edward and Bella kiss, hug. She admires his 'perfection'; he admires her blood for about 400 pages* *Bad guys threaten Bella* *Good guys escape* THE END.
*Yawn* It's getting old. Fast.
So there. That's my review. Are the other books any better? Any more EXCITING?

Well, in NM Bella becomes a zombie for six months. In Eclipse I don't remember what happens. BD... well...
So, yeah, nothing much happens.
If you want good vampire/human or werewolf/human relationships, see Buffy the Vampire Slayer. *nodnod*

Thanks! I might read the others anyway because I am at a serious loss for books these days. Although I have a sneaking suspicion that my mom won't let me read the last one...

*nodnod* Yeah, my mom won't let me read the last one. At least not till I'm older. But she told us (me and my siblings) the main plot.

My mom let me, we went to the book store just to see if it was there, and it wasn't. But I didn't really care, so I bought other books. I haven't really bothered to ask my friends to borrow it, I already know what is going to happen. My cousin ruined it, she's one of those Twilight fans, and on Christmas that's all she would talk about. I didn't want to be mean so I talked about it with her, so yup. hehehe :)

I am 10. My Mom said I could read all of them if I wanted. I did want to, but sometimes, specially book 2 NM, they were SOOOOOO BORING! Actually, only sometimes, but I liked the fights and after she is a vampire way better.

I agree with you, Lena. Bella and the plot are both lacking. I could start raving now, so I'll hit "Submit" before that happens. Because Bella is-- *quickly hits "Submit"*

I'm definitely not obsessed with the Twilight books, and I'm not expecting to meet a perfect vampire like Edward, but I actually liked the series. Ever since reading the Wishbone version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in second grade, horror stories have never been my favorite, so I was glad that the Cullens weren't bloody, gory, average vamps. The morals aren't perfect, although they could have been way worse, but I generally don't read fiction books in search of fabulous morals. I don't read books with bad moral plot lines, and most teen books are much worse than Twilight (or so it seems whenever I walk into the teen section of the library, which explains why I hardly ever check books out from it.) Anybody, regardless of age, who gets their morals straight out of whatever book happen to be cool at the time probably shouldn't read any popular books, because I've never read or heard of a trendy book with perfect morals. Anyway, that's my opinion on the series! :)
Here's what I think of the specific books:
Twilight: I didn't think Twilight was boring, and I'd never really read a "romance" novel before I read this, but surprisingly enough, I liked it.
New Moon: Slightly depressing. If you thought Twilight was boring (I didn't), you probably won't like this one very much. Unless you like Jacob better than Edward, which I don't.
Eclipse: My favorite! It was the most interesting, and better than New Moon and Breaking Dawn.
Breaking Dawn: Sort of a let-down, compared to the rest of the series. Nothing horribly graphic, and I'm not suggesting that younger readers are less mature or intelligent, because they aren't, but this one's subject matter is probably best suited for 14-15+. Book 1 was okay, book 2 was kind of boring, but at least book 3 was good.

I'm mostly concerned about the morals because of the obsessive fans, like the ones behind "cullenism". *shudder*

I MOSTLY agree with you, but 4 was plenty good. Oh, yeah, I have a question: How do cats like in warriors, create posts for other stuff? While I am doing it RIGHT NOW, how do they work the mouse? Or the keyboard? But please, join Nightclan.

I read book four, and I am 10. But, then again, I read Lord of the Rings when I was six, and I love to read more than anything. BAB is a close second, and to anyone younger than 114, "Do not read this book. I found some parts not appropriate, and Twilight and the rest should be read by gifted students, and by students who are 14 or above. (I am in the gifted seminar class, and have a straight A record. But I am NOT a nerd, I am awesome. Ask Soren Dark Master, or Thunderclaw. Thunderclaw is in Nightclan, and Soren Dark Master is an owl in the beaks listed as 25 moons.

Wait, book four as in BD? Weren't you totally /squicked/? I was, for sure. *shudders*
Also LotR >>>>>>>>> Twilight.
