Battle of the Books
Hey guys! Just...

Hey guys! Just wondering, is anyone in a program/club/whatever you want to call it called Battle of the Books? I have read most of the books on the list, but I want to know if there is any specific ones you would recommend. I really like Counting by 7s and The Great Trouble. I am also wondering if it is a nationwide program or just my state.

Cool! I am, too!

...Although I've only read The Mad Potter and part of One Cane Home, I've had a lot on my plate now.

So..I guess this means it's nationwide! ;)

My elementary school did Battle of the Books. My sister was in it. I never was, but still studied and helped my classmates and friends that were in it. My sister had a really good list; mine was less desirable. What's this year's list?

If I remember correctly, this year's list is the William Allen White Nominees List 2016. If you just Google that, it should come up. ;)

Ah, Battle of the Books.... Yeah I remember... winning two years in a row! I don't think all schools do this, but mine does, and my awesome nerdy friends and I make a team of unstop old readers each year and all the years we've done it we won. I don't recognize the book The Great Trouble, but I know Countong by 7s. I really liked A Long Walk to Water and Sky Jumpers, although they were all good! Sorry if if seemed like I was bragging earlier, I'm just really happy (and surprised) we won both years. Here's a tip- DON'T TAKE NOTES! It seems crazy, but it just takes up more time. It's better to just read over the book over and over again then some notes. Also try to read all the books but pick 2 or 3 to really focus on and reread. Bye now!

We don't have that at our school. :(    But I think my friend in Oregon does the battle of the books.

Wow! I didn't realize that so many people actually know what that is! My team went to competition in March. Sadly, we didn't get to semifinals...but it WAS our first year doing it, so...

Also, I think the lists vary depending on the state and/or grade level, because some of those books that you guys mentioned earlier weren't on my list this year. I know the books do change every year also, so that may also be why I don't recognize some of them.
