Comic books are,

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Comic Books!
Comic books are,...

Comic books are, l think, looked down at verus real books. Despite of this, l still read them, much more then l actually read fiction novels.

Comic books generally show action a lot better then novels do, l've seen really wonderful artwork in some comic books.

Who else loves these works of art and writing?  What are your favorites?

My favorite series is Dragon Drive. I've read it more times than I care to count and it never got old. Each time I read it felt like the first time, it's that good. I'm an aspiring graphic novel artist and author.

Hallia says evaa. Like in Wal-E, where he was saying, "Evaa!" looking for his lost friend.

l've never heard about that one. What's it about?

I think they are only looked down on because they are grouped together with graphic novels. I enjoy comic books (especially Calvin and Hobbes) but I DETEST graphic novels. Seriously, The Titans curse graphic novel? I think it's GARBAGE. I am sorry if this offends anyone, but I rarely get to share this opinion.

I have a lot of my dad's old Dr. Strange, New Mutants, and X-men comics from when he was a kid! Dr. Strange is my favorite, closely followed by New Mutants. X-men is just too confusing!

Comic books I read:

Tintin

Astrix and Obelix

Calvin and Hobbes

Do any of you know of libraries that don't have comic books?  If I remember correctly, then before Cho moved, one of the libraries that her family went to didn't have comic books.

(But that was so long ago Cho, you might not even remember.)   Tongue out

For some reason I have a strange affinity for My Little Pony comics. They're really well written and illustrated, and fun!

At the public library! Also, I'm getting used to your name being Eówyn. Cho will always seem like coming home after a long day for me, though. Look for Reflections by Andy Price, Katie Cook, Heather Breckel, Bobby Curnow, and Neil Uyetake. It's my favorite MLP comic! It's really dramatic, though. I actually almost cried at the end!

Oh good finally, an age apporiate chat room! For some reason this is really exciting to me. Anyways, for comics I mainly read Japanese Manga and Graphic Novels. I've read a ton of volumes of the Bravest Warriors Seires, which is good but not as good as the actual cartoon and some other stuff like Bee and Puppycat. My most recent reads have been the Amulet Seires and the Lumberjanes. Both are seriously epic! For a little background on both, Lumberjanes is a group of girls and their adventures around a seriously odd summer camp and the Amulet is about a family who moves into an old house after a family tragedy and discovers a fantastical world in their basement. By the way, if anyone needs recommendations in comics or books I'll be happy to help.

P.s. Yes this is my first time on here so I'm just sorta typing this as a tester to see what this is all about.

Welcome to the CB! It's kinda funny because Cron, I love the exact same comics that you just listed! And maybe it's dumb, but I like Diary of a Wimpy Kid too (if that even counts as a comic :)

Oooh, I love Tintin too! And Amulet was REALLY GOOD! But the library I go to didn't have any past the second book...
