What happened to Pottermore?
Okaaaay, so I...
Okaaaay, so I never created an account on Pottermore, even though i wanted to. I hadn't gone to pottermore.com since.......like, two or three months ago.
Then yesterday, I was like, "it's about time" so I went to Pottermore.com......and the website was totally different. I dug through it, but no games or sorting hat quizzes or anything.
ANYBODY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED?????
Maybe the old one now has a different url............?

I noticed that too! Really frustrating. I had a Pottermore account, but I hadn't been on there for a while. So just like you, Hootsie, I decided to go on one day, and there were no games or anything!! There is some good information about the series on there now, but I really enjoyed the Sorting Hat and the games.

Hey everybody! I think I can answer your question.
Seems like the Pottermore people realized that their users are older than they had thought- mostly college-aged. So they changed Pottermore to appeal to an older audience.
Also they had got all the way through the series, and there was very little left to do.
And people were abusing the chat rooms. So they completely shut down and erased the old one- it is no longer available, anywhere.
Their new one is more like a blog now, but it is still very new, so that's to be expected.
Very recently, it reinstated the House-sorting and Wand-selecting quizzes, which are only available to you if you create a new account. So it seems to be reviving slowly. It still features exclusive writing by Rowling, but it is now more difficult to locate your favorite pages. There seems to be one page that rotates different bits of her writing every day. The rest of it is information about the new Harry Potter movie and play coming out, and some other random stuff. So, not quite like the old Pottermore, but I think it will get better. I'm Hufflepuff! :)

Thank you Esthelle! My name is pronounced Lin-ay-uh but lots of people mispronounce it. I really love your name, I have always thought that it sounds like a name that would be used in a fantasy story. (Plus it sounds really pretty)

I'm a Pottermore user too! It sounded like first they took down chat and comments, then took down games. Like Esthelle said, there are new accounts now. If you make a new account and remember your old username, you can recover your wand and House. It's less about games and more about trivia now, true, but I still think it's worth it to join, if only to get your official House!
