I can say,
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
I can say, from much experience, that authors are officially evil.
Do you know what Roald Dahl did once?! I read The Landlady in ELA, and it ended with such an evil cliffhanger, and then my ELA teacher said he was going to be stuffed! Murdered and stuffed! (I mean, okay, I kill every one of my main characters in my NaNo novel, but this is something else. The landlady just stuffs people because she falls in love with them. Or something. She's "dotty," to quote the book.)
And I just finished reading this other book, Mark of the Thief, that I was almost positive was going to be a single novel, but that ended with a cliffhanger too! As in, "Hey, look, there's a sequel, and I'm not going to even tell you the name of it in this book!" *sobs*
I would wage war against authors, but that's waging war against myself, sooo.....

Ok, you probably haven't heard of this book--most people that I've talked to haven't (then again, most people I talk to don't consider reading necessary for life), but The Apothecary by Malie Meloy leaves off on a total cliffhanger with no advertisment or anything for the next book.
This is a really great book, and there are 2 more books in the series, The Apprentices and The After-Room. I would highly reccomend this book for anyone--even if you aren't interested in Historical Fantasy.
