Chatterbox: Blab About Books

How to train you dragon
WARNING ~Do not...

WARNING ~Do not read these books. Why? Because there is a lot of disgusting humor bathroom humor, more disgusting humor, and a lot of being just down right MEAN. The movies are very good, cute movies do NOT expect the same thing from these books.

Really? I like them, they're great books. And the series isn't even finished yet, I'm itching for the thirteenth to come out.

Hey! The rude humor just started letting up at around book six! (That was the only problem I saw with these books.)

Sloth says hazt. Does that mean she thinks it hasn't let up?

Yeah! It gets less humorous and more "all right, real plots now" as the books go along!

But that's the point. That they're that kind of book. It's not like it's completely vile-ly inappropriate, and it is part of why the books are funny and cool.

Also... the movies came after the books? So someone saw that the books were cool enough that they thought it had potential? Many people judge movies based on books but why would you judge books based on movies? Think of them as two separate events. The causality is different.

True about the talent thing. I usually look at it from the whichever came first view, but I saw the movies before the books. And Matt L. (who is my 13 year old uncle who also does Cricket) recommended them to me. Otherwise I probably would have never read them.

*Laughs*  I may be a bit old for these books, but I love them!  The character building throughout the series is great, and the over arching plot is phenomenal as well.  The first books do have quite a bit of bathroom humor, but if you ask me there is so much more going on that it doesn't really matter.  ;)

I like the movies as well and tend to look at the movies and books as completely different stories.  One thing that I think the books have going for them that the movies are missing is a main plotline.
