Series of Unfortunate...

Series of Unfortunate Events. Ok, these books are sOOOOOOO depressing!!!! I mean, the whole like chasing thing of Count Olaf going to so much trouble to get some stupid fortune, and the eyes all over the place just weirded me out!!!!! The only reason I read them is because I wanted to know what VFD meant. But I was!!! And the movie?????? Bleghhh!! Come on people!!!!!  Thank you.

i like the books, but I can't read too many of them at once. It's like eating cherry candy. I like it until I'm really fed up. Also, the movie was really terrible. It was so stupid to combine 3 or 4 books into 1 story. I'm glad the didn't make another.

Lemony Snicket would be so glad. Come on, just because "Depressing, don't read this" is written all over the books... Well, it's an ACT! They're actually very interesting and sometimes funny. It says they have a sad ending, and sort of, yes, and most of them do, but if it's going to keep you from reading them, I'll tell you. They don't.

I loved the books! They were really great and funny. Although they were sad they were also inspirational. Violet, Sunny, and Clause always looked on the bright side and kept trying. I too HATED the movie. Combing the books was soooooooo stupid! Also it had a happy ending! And it was all about Jim Carrey (Count Olaf) it was just dumb. Don't think the books are anything like the movie!

Ok, Creeped Out, if your creeped out already, you DON'T want to know how *Don't read this if you haven't read The Vile Villiage*

You don't want to know how the VFD gets its volunteers.

You know, the thing that kills me about these books is that everyone except Sunny, Klaus, Violet, Isodora, and Duncan is either dumb, or they're too shy to speak up for what is right. That miffs me. People need to be BOLD, not hide in a corner!

I read those books, all 13 of them.  I have to agree they were quite depressing at times.  Even so, this is one of my favorite series.
