First book that made me cry when I finished it.

I don't know why, either, I've seen much sadder things than that.

Maybe it's the way he really makes you get attached to the characters, and then at the end, POOF! They're dead. Although it was a happy ending, it wasn't really. It was sad, too.

Even Stonebird flew away. That was just mean, but I guess he found other kids to help. Or endanger. Or whatever the heck his purpose was...
