Harry Potter Theories
Have any of...
Have any of you heard the weird theories floating around about the Harry Potter series...such as that Dumbledore is a time traveling Ron, Draco is a werewolf, the Dursleys were horrible because they were living with a Horcrux, or that Hogwarts was all in Harry's head. Some of them (such as the Ronbledore theory) kinda make sense, but the one's that are like "Oh, Hermione is Harry's twin!" are just bizarre.

Ron . . . being Dumbledore time traveled? Oookay. I mean, it could, in theory, make sense, but Ron's not eccentric enough - or wise enough - to be Dumbledore, in my opinion.
Other than these, I haven't heard many theories besides the what happens in the nest book or the will JK Rowling write another series type.

I mean really? Who came up with those fibs that are obviously not true. Who would believe that?!

Notice this thread is about theories, Hannah. All of these came out before the release of the Deathly Hallows, which makes them all plausible and totally not lies. And if you ignore DH, each one of them can make sense.

top, top, toppity

You know what? I don't think any of those work. The people who were saying them probably were joking. Because Dumbledore being a time-travelling Ron? Since when does Ron have a beard and white hair, and no freckles, and needs glasses? Besides, he's nothing like Dumbledore. Ron would never have the courage to kill himself. (Okay, Dumbledore didn't kill himself. He planned his death.)
Draco isn't a werewolf. He's never been suspiciously dissapearing during the full moon. (Yes, he's mysteriously dissappeared. But that was the ROR.)
The Dursleys were horrible to Harry because they were afraid of him. They didn't like him being a wizard. They wanted to be safe, they didn't want to be dumped with a child that could turn them into cocoroaches with a word and a flick of a wand.

Well, what would have to happen to Ron for him to become like Dumbledore? Then it's only a simple matter of going back in time, confusing Rita Skeeter, and a whole lot of other people!

I think I neglected to say that all the therories I mentioned were from before the end of the series. So obviously none of them work, but it's still really cool to think of.
And to explain the Ronbledore theory, yes, it works if you ignore the Deathly Hallows (which was not out when it was invented). Dumbledore would have been Ron from the future (which would explain the beard, hair and glasses.) Also:
(a) Dumbledore has a scar on his left leg, Ron breaks his left leg
(b) They both have red hair
(c) Bertie Bott's beans weren't invented when Dumbledore was a child, yet he mentions being scarred for life after eating one as a child
(d) They bother have long fingers
(e) What Dumbledore says he sees in the Mirror Of Erised? Could have been Ron missing his mother's socks

Well, I haven't heard any of the theories you mentioned but... there are some plot holes mentioned...
Fred and George didn't notice Peter on the map...
Voldemort trusts Narcissa to check if Harry is dead...
Snape could have saved himself with a bezoar, etc. because Dumbledore could have told him that Voldemort would kill him...
Lupin didn't see future Hermione and Harry on the map...
Snape could have told Dumbledore that Voldemort was back because the Dark Mark would have told him...
The teachers trusted Lockhart when Ginny's life was on the line...
Sirius was thought to be Dark but in fact he came from Gryffindor when "all the Dark wizards ame from Slytherin"...
*note: These aren't mine, they're from a website. And I agree, some of these are, well, it's okay, doesn't matter in the main plot.

Just want to point a few things out for this - I'm inclined to agree wiht some of them, but others, I can see reason in.
-They don't really mention where Scabbers is in the day - he could have been running loose in the school, and Fred and George would have thought that he was a kid they didn't know. And I don't know if, during the two something years that they had the map and Ron was at school, how often they'd look for their brother while he was with Scabbers.
- Voldemort might have wanted to let the Malfoys redeem themselves - or maybe was afraid that he'd lose one of his better wizards to a sudden nondead Harry. Also, he has such a big ego that he's convinced that he's the most powerful of the group, I believe, so he thinks he would be able would be able to keep track of Narcissa's thoughts to tell him the truth. (And, apparently she's a good at Legilimenency.)
-I'm not getting how Dumbledore would know that Voldemort would kill Snape - or, if he did, if Nagini would have been covered in a beozar - remember, there are certain venoms and potions that a beozar can't help with (for instance, a basilik's poinson).
- Maybe Lupin was so occupied, like Snape must have been, by the name "Sirius Black" or "Peter Pettigrew" on the map that he didn't bother to notice that Harry and Hermione's names were on there twice. Sirius and Peter would have stood out, and if he found Harry's name near them, why would he bother to look again?
- I thought Snape did tell Dumbledore that Voldemort was back . . .
- No argument - but, then again, they didn't think that he'd be able to do it. I'll bet that they were secretly trying to do something themselves, and let him be humiliated when they get it done. Or, I hope they were doing something, too.
- Sirius "showed" the ability to be a Dark Wizard, and his family was essentially all Slytherin. The proof of Pettigrew's "last words" were also not helping Sirius' reputation.
Again, I don't want to ridicule you, but that website, and provide suggestions to people why things might be that way.

Mmm, I agree with you on those, True. Sorry, I didn't see those solutions, but they are good ones.

I'm not liking the way this thread is going, guys. I meant for this just be a fun, light hearted, wow, that would have been a really cool way to end the series kinda thread. I'm not trying to say any of these are real- in fact, I obviously said they were false right up front (theories) and how you keep shooting them down for no reason kinda hurts my feelings.

<<<<<SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Well it was confirmed that Dumbledore <3 <3 <3 Grindevald. I personally think that the train station scene with Dumbledore showed how powerful he was. Also a theory that in book 2, the owl seen was the owl that took Dumbledore to the Ministry. I know that long fingers=powerful magic and/or wisdom.

Voldemort had long fingers too. Interesting...

Yeah... that's really interesting... something about how all the crazy-awesome wizards/witches had long fingers could be a weird theory....
