Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Don't know what to read!
I need to...
I need to read a book for an assignment and don't know what to read. The book has to be small, about two-hundred pages or so! I like fantasy books like Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and The Hobbit. I would like some book suggestions!

At the Back of the North Wind, by George Macdonald (not completely sure how to spell his last name). This book is about a little boy named Diamond, his friend the North Wind, and their adventures. Beautifully written!
Summer and Bird by Katherin Cattmul (again, not sure about the last name). Two girls fall into a magical world called Down; it is the world of birds, and their jealousy and separate adventures drives the two sister farther and farther away from each other...

I suggest you read Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life, Every Soul a Star, and Kira-Kira.

Ella Enchanted is one of my favorite fantasy books out there, so I would suggest that. It's about 230 pages, but the story is so captivating that you won't even realize the length. The book is actually based on a fairytale: Cinderella. It follows a girl named Ella through her birth to the day she either lives happily ever or not. The book is written well and it draws the reader in easily; I've read my copy so many times that the edges are soft and the cover is falling apart.

If you like fantasy adventure, you should read The Great Tree of Avalon: Child of The Dark Prophecy, by T. A. Barron. Sadly, it is 430 pages long, way out of the length you want. So I guess I'm really talking to other fantasy adventure lovers out there.
Anyway, the book is really well written, a compelling story, with plot twists ( some that you can detect, others really suprising) and the book is kind of about Merlin, but he isn't in the story and it isn't in Camelot. But it is still about Merlin, and those related to him. You will find out how Merlin can not physically be in the book but still be an important topic, if you read the book. Which I highly suggest doing.

The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester (I believe I spelled her name correctly) is absolutely fantastic , and probably slightly over 200 pages, but not by a lot I think.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Myers. The first book is called Cinder.

Well, if you're okay with a snarky author, hilarious jokes, and an infuriating lack of answered questions, then I would recommend A Series of Unfortunate Events, or All the Wrong Questions. Both are by Lemony Snicket. Or, if you're looking for something more fanciful, my other favorite is Fablehaven by Brandon Mull.

You should read Escape From Mr Lemoncello's Library. It's not exactly fantasy, but it's one of the best books I have ever read.
