Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Like, wow! The Uglies is a totally awesome book. If you haven't read it you should! It is about a fifteen year old girl named Tally who lives in the future. Almost all of the human population is died out because of a oil bug (all oil set on fire.) TAlly can't wait to turn sixteen and get an operation that will turn her into a mind blowing pretty, but Tally mets a girl named Shay who doesn't want to turn pretty. When Shay runs away to a mysterious city in the woods called Smoke, Tally must decide to turn in her friend and turn pretty, or stay ugly for ever. In case I lost you let me tell you the various ranks of people in Tally's world:
Littles- From birth to 12 you live with your crumblies in the Suburbs
Uglies- from 12 to 16 you live in Uglyville and can get away with almost anything
Pretties- from 16 to 25 (I think) you live in New Pretty town and you only have to have fun, you get the basic pretty operation
Middle Pretties- from 25 to 37(I think) you live in the Suburbs with the Crumblies, Middle Pretties have alll the jobs, they get different operations for their jobs
Crumblies- from 37 to death, Crumblies have the babies and care for their littles, they get operations that give them stronger bones and wrinkles

I LOVE these books! Although I haven't yet been able to get my hands on the last two, I was so caught up the first ones that i skipped feeding horses and chickens. And believe me, that's saying a lot!

I love horses, too. I keep telling my mom that I need horse back riding lessons; the camps are boring. My grandpa used to have 2 horses, but one died. (she bucked me off. it was not fun. she died of some disease a year or so later)
I have read Uglies, Pretties, Specials, and don't want to read Extras. My teacher read Uglies to my class, and I was hooked.
